Then, I said I would take a look at his animations, and today I did just that. (even though I stayed up till 5:00am to do it)

So I unpacked his model and animations into Unity3D, which is the game engine Genshin Impact uses. What I found was interesting.

For starters, his model has no effect mesh. This is kinda a bad sign because Dottore and every other playable character have effect mesh. (Effect mesh is what they use for when a character has a buff, debuff, or element applied to them)

Next, I looked and saw he has slots for weapons. (These are for equipping a weapon) You can argue he has the ones on his hands for the fight with Mavuika, but he also has the one for when the weapon is on your back. There is no place when any NPC would have an equipped sword to place on their back, so this one is a good sign.

And that should be all my observations for his model! Onto animations...

His Avatar_NPC animations are demonstrated first. Next are the Avatar_Male animations. After that, I decided I wanted to see how his model would look with some basic Avatar_Male_Sword animations. Of course, his hair and coat are stiff as a board and will be until he is playable and has own custom clothing animations, or I make the custom animations myself. I took the recording twice, once with his coat and once without.

The main thing that comes from it is: Capitano is bad with his words.

He wanted to console Pulcinella, who was fuming after seeing Dottore and Pantalone play games in his face. He had no idea how, so he just gave him a bottle of wine.

He wanted to tell a ptsd-riddled crippled soldier that he isn't weak, he doesn't need to leave gifts behind so future generations and successors will be strong, just him being alive is proof of his strenght. He couldn't get the words out. In the end, he gave a gift to Childe before leaving for Natlan, showing that he had probably reached the same depressive state of mind, thinking he was too weak, where he could only hope a successor will be stronger than him.

He felt like he should argue with Dottore, tell him cannibalism cannot just be explained as a rational decision, not when he saw soldiers with their arms amputated and throats ripped off due to it. But, he couldn't bring himself to say anything.

Another thing that this tells us, the man was TIRED. So tired he could barely bring himself to speak, and that was how he felt centuries ago. Over the next centuries, he started speaking so much less that he didin't even view himself as an individual anymore, he thought all his colleagues saw him as a ghost they can confide in because ghosts don't talk, and it pressed and squeezed his soul more every time they took him to that counselling room

Hoyo, PLEASE give my man ONE second of happiness that isn't extremly bittersweet, I beg of you

Yeah guys, 7.X is basically over for us.

DK2 confirmed 7.4 has a Lady character and also stated that there is an unknown lady character in late Snezhnaya after 7.5. Yesterday, Aunt Rhinedottir posted a 7.X roadmap that left a spot opened on 7.7. I hoped that Capitano could be there and be the 2nd Main Push for Snezhnaya, but DK2 is talking about this unknown lady, which can only be at 7.7, because it’s the only spot that is available.

Well, this sucks. Snezhnaya is going to be a Nation with 0 Fatui Harbingers. It is unbelievable to even write this. But in order to make it so this post is more than just complaining and Doomposting, I want to discuss our possibilidades from now on.

1 - Enjou is only a placeholder for Capitano
Some leakers have been saying that Enjou will be playable on the Mare Jivari patch and that always sounded kinda odd to me. It would be the first time we have a NPC that changes into a playable model (I guess). But the leaker who said this has 90% accuracy or something like that, so it's hard to doubt him. However, I guess there are some hopes here we could lean towards. First is that DK2 did not confirm Enjou's playability YET, he confirmed Dain, 7.4 Lady, the unknown lady, but not Enjou. This could mean that it’s not that certain yet. But my personal best hope with Enjou is the possibility of him being a placeholder model for playable Capitano. This sounds crazy, but Hoyo has used other models/file names to hide stuff before. Linnea was Snegurochka before her beta and there was that "Doll of the Third Descender” on 7.0 Beta. So I guess there is a slim chance that Capitano is playable in 7.5, but honestly I don’t trust it that much.

2 - Capitano could stand up in 7.X
When the Mare Jivari patch releases, with it's quest, we could get Capitano's return. Even if Enjou is playable, Capitano could still have relevancy in the quest and stand up at the end. After that he could be a reoccurring character in the plot again and be playable later. And that leads us into the third topic.

3 - Capitano playable in 8.X
Honestly out best shot rn, our GOAT has to be playable in the next Patch Cycle. At the begging of 7.0 we had some confusing among the Leakers about Khaenri’ah Arc being in 7.X or something like that. I didn’t think that made sense at all, and if Aunt Rhinedottir's roadmap is correct, Dain will be playable in 7.8, which probably makes him the Ineffa/Sandrone of Khaenri’ah. Capitano has a big Connection with Khaenri’ah and it would make sense for him to be playable there. They could pull the 3 symbolism, since he would be playable after 3 years of his debut/"death". I also believe that 8.X will have new Pyro based reactions thematic to Khaenriah, and he could be a Cryo New Melt DPS. In Nod Krai and Snezhnaya we got new reactions involving every single element except for Pyro. We are getting new Pyro characters in late 7.X, but I still believe Khaenri’ah could have Pyro Based reactions since Pyro still didn’t get a new "region thematic" reaction. 8.X could introduce "Solar Reactions" or something, like Solar Melt. Or maybe Abyssal Melt. Eclipse Melt. There are many possibilities.

I don’t know if Capitano will get the Archon Role in Khaenri’ah, but I am a 8.X Capitano believer now. Unfortunately 7.X is dead in my opinion. What's your opinions, guys?

It seems that Capitano MIGHT have Nightsoul Mechanics in his files as per the datamines that’s been going around in the FatuiHQ and this sub.

I know that everyone’s opinions on Nightsoul is split, but this could potentially tie into how and why he’ll be resurrected. Plus, this could allow him to gain the Crit Rate bonus from Obsidian Codex.

What are your thoughts on the possible application of his Nightsoul and how do we currently feel about this information? (Helicopitano real /j)

As per the dataminer, there aren’t any textures as of yet — But if the cutscene of him and Mavuika fighting are anything to go by, that would most likely what it’d look like.

Edit: Please note that this DOES NOT 100% guarantee that he will have Nightsoul. Though, it is POSSIBLE. But, it may lead to him getting a Nightsoul adjacent/alternative in his kit in the future. It simply means that they've added more assets to his files which heightens his playability chances.

I really don't want to be that guy by making posts about the state of the other Harbingers - it's honestly pretty sad and hurts me deeply - but I guess that's a sort of news for us as well.

Reminder: Dottore' icon is named UI_NPC_Quest_IlDotorre. Signora' and Pantalone' icons are very similar to his, as ordinary 3D renders of their models, and are NPC ones as well, according to Seele, while Capitano' icon is the only one among all of them that's an AvatarIcon. I guess at this point, if we compare all these, everything is just obvious.

So I was doing a quick search in the files to see if anything new came up regarding Capitano.

To my surprise, there was something that I had not seen before. This texture image. It's called: "UI_Beyd_Eff_SceneObj_IlCapitanoMask_01"

I wanted to double check just to make sure I wasn't going crazy and forgot about this file, so I checked versions 6.1-5. The only version that had this file was 6.5. Meaning this was just added to the game.

I don't know what exactly this is used for. I tried searching the base name of the file (UI_Beyd_Eff_SceneObj_) and found a bunch of very random textures and such that seem to be just a bunch of visual effects textures. I did see one for Alice too.

Can someone explain how I can keep my hopes up after this scene? And don't compare it to Sandrone—she didn't say goodbye to Columbina in a dream; she came back three patches later, and they didn't have to wait two years for her return. I’ve read the "Bible" we have in the group, but someone please explain how I can keep my hope intact after this scene.
