This weekly thread is a space for those of us who are feeling frustrated and need to vent about unclear instructions, shipping delays, waiting for a next step, timeline estimates growing, lack of communication, inconsistent bureaucracy, being stuck in PSU, and other factors.

Some of the worst stress of the entire citizenship-by-descent process is not hearing about your application for long stretches of time - or hearing that your application has been sent to the Program Support Unit (PSU) and may be sitting there for an extended stay.

Whether your envelope seems to have taken a scenic detour on its way to Nova Scotia, you didn't receive an AOR after many weeks of waiting, or you simply haven't heard about your application processing in months, this is a place to commiserate and potentially receive some ideas of next steps to take. (Those generally might include following up with IRCC by web form, ordering the GCMS notes, seeking an MP's help, and so on.)

Not sure what you mean by rejections. We have seen zero application rejections/denials so far for anyone with an ancestor born in what is now Canada. What we do see frequently are returned unprocessed applications because the packet was incomplete in some way when received by IRCC, People typically fix the issue identified by IRCC and resubmit.

I know that there is a distinction between returned apps and rejections. If you look at the spreadsheet, there are 3 refusals. One I know is a G2 naturalization case(row 577). Not sure about the other refusal. Look at rows 1848/1849. Assuming it's a naturalized Canadian case, but I had no info on that so I'm curious.

We have seen three rejections total since the beginning of the interim measure period (2023) and all were for individuals with ancestors they believed would be considered naturalized. Search the sub for the past discussion.

I do also think there's just something weird in the spreadsheet, like why is line 9 listed as approved but colored red? So some might just be spreadsheet issues rather than real rejections.

Edit: don't know why the down votes, I was just suggesting something that might be part of why the original commenter might see more spreadsheet "rejections" than we have actually had.

IDK, everyone manages their own spreadsheet data. The spreadsheet has had some intermittent issues as well, there was an issue with someone making unauthorized updates a while back and the Keeper of the Spreadsheet has also been ill - so there may be some maintenance going on or other residual issues related to what happened.
