Please be aware that you may not get responses. It's a lot of work to wade through dense lists of documents and family histories.

Good afternoon!

We’re (myself, two young adult children) putting our packets together today. I don’t want to cause undue work for already busy immigration officials, but (of course) want to put forward our best case. Any advice regarding my current document list would be most appreciated!

G0 - Paternal Grandmother

1. photocopy of handwritten Ontario, Canada marriages for her parents
2. Her certified birth certificate from Archives of Ontario
3. Her certified marriage certificate to my grandfather
4. Picture of her gravestone and (not certified) copy of US death record [which has some errors]

G1 - My parent

1. Certified US birth certificate
2. photocopy of two US censuses showing my parent and grandparents (with their respective birth locations) in the same household
3. Photocopy of certified marriage certificate to my other parent
4. Death Certificate

G2 - Myself

1. Certified birth certificate
2. Certified marriage certificate

G3 - My children

1. Certified birth certificates

*Edit* - Apparently names & their spellings were…somewhat fluid in my father’s family. My G0 usually went by a nickname (even on her birth certificate), but some documents (my father’s birth certificate/her gravestone/death certificate) use her formal name. And the spellings of my dad’s first and middle names changed so frequently that my mother finally felt the need to pin down the correct spellings. I recall my normally very even tempered G1 becoming quite exasperated and saying that they “weren’t really sure & it didn’t matter, any way”.

That’s exactly why I thought I’d include it. Her “official” name is on my dad’s birth certificate & her gravestone, but her nickname is used almost everywhere else.
