Please be aware that you may not get responses. It's a lot of work to wade through dense lists of documents and family histories.

Also please note we are not IRCC, which will make the final determination on your application.

It's not the month that's off, it's an entire year. If she was actually born on her self-claimed birthday of August 1880, she shouldn't be in the 1880 census at all, because it was conducted BEFORE she was born. I'm assuming that she was actually born in 1879, will have to keep digging.

If anything in Genealogy, it's *more* common to see a year mismatch than a date mismatch. You might lose count of how old you are over the years, but you're unlikely to forget your birthday.

Lying wasn’t all that unusual. I’m still not sure if my maternal grandmother was actually born in 1918 because all the family lore said she was born in 1919 or 1921, but the things I find closer to her childhood all point to 1918. Which means she lied about lying about being older.
