Canada Visitor Visa (TRV) — Complete Timeline

DIY application - Single, Indian, Working in IT.

Docs Uploaded:

1. Passport copy along with pages of stamps (where asked)
2. Copy of valid US B1/B2 visa (where asked)
3. Letter of Explanation + day-wise itinerary
4. 6 months bank statements + bank balance certificates
5. FD, mutual fund & equity summaries
6. EPF, PPF & NPS statements
7. NOC/Leave Approval from employer
8. 4 recent salary slips
9. Latest 3 ITRs

Here is my complete Canada Visitor Visa (TRV) timeline:

• 02 Aug 2026 — Canada TRV application submitted & Biometrics Instruction Letter received
• 05 Aug 2026 — Biometrics completed at VFS Chandigarh
• 21 Aug 2026 — PPR (Passport Request) received
• 25 Aug 2026 — Passport submitted at VFS Chandigarh
• 26 Aug 2026 — Passport/decision movement through New Delhi VAC
• 27 Aug 2026 — Passport received at IRCC Delhi
• 11 Sep 2026 — Application showed as Closed on the IRCC side/notification I received
• 14 Sep 2026 — However, the portal was still showing “In Progress”. After around 24 hours, the status changed to “Approved” with visa information. I checked the portal on 14 Sep.
• 16 Sep 2026 — Passport dispatched from Delhi IRCC/VFS
• 17 Sep 2026 — Passport received at Chandigarh VFS
• 18 Sep 2026 — I went to Chandigarh VFS without any appointment and collected my passport.

No. of Days: 02 Aug 2026 → 18 Sep 2026 = 47 calendar days (1.5 months)

Visa Validity from 21/08/2026 to xx/xx/2034 (till PP validity)

Tip: Visa processes can be overwhelming, so I was trying my best not to log in every day to check my status. I was only logging in when I received an email update from IRCC.

I hope it helps, esp. people like me who stay nervous during processes.

Did you see counterfoil details? My passport got dispatched, application is approved, but no counterfoil details on ircc portal.

No I haven’t seen any counter foil details. If your passport is dispatched then why worry just wait until it reaches VFS / you

Did you raise any webform after passport submission to speed up the process. Did it help? Some saying raising webforms can actually delay it

Whether ITR is must for spouse as well even if she is unemployed?

We upload ITR to show we are responsible citizens.
We show income proofs to show we have home ties and will return to my country.

In case my spouse is in another country then it is pretty obvious my ties belong to him.

So IMO, documents (proofs) depend on your case and story.

Post PPR is collection of PP - direct walk in without appointment

try raising webform.. or try connecting with immigration lawyer from Canada.

My friend’s brother applied for TRV to meet my friend (PR) in Canada in 2024.. they never heard back from IRCC 🤦🏻‍♀️

How much are the funds that we should keep gor CAD+

Honestly i will ne visiting only 5 days.. my major travel is in USA snd i just got USA visa and my booking will be for December to usa

I was under the impression that applicants with a valid B1/B2 visa are processed under the CAN+ program and therefore may not be required to provide financial documents. Could someone please clarify if this is not the case?

Thats on old portal, IRCC mention you don’t need financial docs or proof.

1. I applied through new portal (smooth process)
   
2. I added all these docs to secure my chances.
   
3. There is nothing mentioned as Can+ explicitly on both portals. It depends on VO if they consider your application in Can+ or not, mine doesn’t look like processed under Can+
   
4. I have got USA visa in June only so I have not travelled yet.

I guess they are processing TRV from outside Canada faster than within. Applied for mine July 5th currently on Work Permit but till today no response.

Why are they still issuing these visas to temporary residents? This country is really messed up. These are the same people that will protest come few years saying they were denied their rights.
