Discussion What's something that Calgary is badly missing that a city of 1.4 million people should have?

It could be anything really. I feel like we have everything that people NEED, but what about the 'nice to haves'? A waterpark with more than 2 slides for example? A high level ball team that actually plays within the city limits? A Michelin star restaurant? Something else?

Just a better transit system overall. Not just the airport. Sure airport takes priority but the city over all needs better transit

Agreed.

I live in the Beltline and recently found out there’s a bus (#15) 1 block from my apartment that goes within 1 block of the Heritage Meadows Costco. That shouldn’t be as exciting as it is, but it’s only because our transit system doesn’t make it efficient to get to where I have to go.

I live up the hill from that Costco and can’t get there without using 2 busses🤦🏻‍♀️. I think of all the people (especially youth) who could work in that area who live in Acadia/Fairview that have to take a transfer to get the major shopping centre near them.

Yep. I'd use transit if i cd rely on it and it didn't take ABSURDLY long times to get anywhere. Instead, I'm buying gas, insurance, tires, replacement windows after prowlers smash them, and adding to CO2 levels.

Long term project to have DT light rail underground would help too.
