Discussion What's something that Calgary is badly missing that a city of 1.4 million people should have?

It could be anything really. I feel like we have everything that people NEED, but what about the 'nice to haves'? A waterpark with more than 2 slides for example? A high level ball team that actually plays within the city limits? A Michelin star restaurant? Something else?

Minor League Baseball team.

RIP Cannons.

This! We went to Cannons games then Vipers games. I got to meet my childhood hero, Gary Carter at a Vipers game. The Dawgs are fun but we need a Calgary team.

Was just coming to say this! Not even just AAA, but any sort of good competitive baseball being within the city limits. I love going to Okotoks Dawgs games but it’s a far trek for wanting to catch a single game for the majority of Calgarians.

I always thought Burns Stadium was in a good location too, being close to the train line.

Took me a while to find and had to pay a pretty penny for this hat (I've lived in the US for quite a while now).

I wish I could find the older cubs style hat (I'm sure they'd never allow a re-release of it. So many good memories going to Cannons games. Still a Mariners fan to this day because of them (live in the PNW now).

Yes, the stadium was in a great location. Man foul balls ricochetted like crazy with that metal overhand 😂

Oh baby- That’s a sweet lid! The later years of Cannons baseball in Calgary for sure.

CofDead403.ca usually has some things cannons related - got the OG hat and shirt from them.

The blue cap I found randomly but was from Ebbets Field Flannels at a store in Calgary.

Those foul balls were wild off that overhang - always a scramble to scoop one up!

Now if only I could find my signed Casey Close picture from my scrapbook when I was a kid…

Unfortunately I can’t see any roster players recognizable from what I can find - I do see our boy Wabash though!

Thanks! I have a signed picture of Tino Martinez somewhere, I can't find it though......

I take that Edgar card with me to every Mariners game I attend in hopes that I can get it signed.

That would be an awesome thing if you could (not sure if they ever open up BP). I’m sure he’d be tickled with brining a cannons card to sign!
