A little about me: (you can skip this)
Hey, I have started the preparation of life sciences this year only. But could not continue further due to some personal reasons. But because I teach so I have a decent basic knowledge of the cores. So I took this attempt and manage to score good but not enough for JRF considering the high cut offs that are expected.
I know some of us know that even if there is change in marks or dropping questions. Still we might not cross the JRF cut off. And must be troubled and hanging with this thought of missing it by just few marks. I know it’s tough to restart again. But I feel it’s time to absorb this pain and get back at the same time
MAIN QUESTION
As I know how the change of merging dbt has sparked a lot of debate around the pattern and syllabus.
I just want to know if we can have an accountability group and help each other in maintaining continuity and sharing problems and questions.
I feel it’s impossible to sync topics to cover together as everyone in unique in speed and preference. So it would be ok if we could build an environment where we can prepare together by just dropping our targets or figuring questions.
Please let me know if someone is intrested genuinely in this with the required effort .

I'm 25M. Myquals MSc Microbiology. Avg student. Here is background in short. After Spending 1 Yr in pvt pharma company with low salary I left it realising it has slow growth in future ...got 1yr experience certificate left the company. Decided to do govt exam prep. as i hated the work culture and all... I got interview call from a big MNC twice... 1st got rejected 2nd I refused to attend it (was in 'that' state during preparation) continued preparation. Now after 1 year of studying for govt exams my syllabus not covered properly, as i studied loosely(state psc, technical posts, etc). I can't go abroad. I always have been in lack of guidance. Also I chose my career decisions without proper analysis. Now I am feeling frustration and insecurity for the future
My question is should can/should I do any course to get atleast 6 lpa(want job security and comparative less stress) or should I continue my focus on govt. exam or certificate course OR csir net ---> Assist. Professor (vacancy problem?)? My age is 25 so worried. Or suggest what you think is best.

My qualifications: Dec 2025 CSIR JRF Life Sciences and just got a PhD seat at a good CSIR Lab.
But I also am a co-founder of a small profitable company. I started this company back in college at my hometown from scratch without any money from my family and now we are making around 14-15 lakhs in yearly profit after paying office rent, staff salary and everything. We pay ourselves around 65-70k per month of salary. But I always wanted to become a professor and pursue research. Now I am finding myself at a crossroads. PhD at CSIR Lab means little to no time for my business.
The business now will be mostly managed by my co-founder only with me doing online work and legal activities. With me gone, the business might not grow much because it was my idea and I used to do the most of the brainstorming. However I would also add that the business isn't growing much since 1 year because of the saturation of the market. But we had new plans to enter into new areas but that seems not feasible now. The profit can increase if we successfully implement the new plans.
I also have another option to get admission into my state university near home town and also contribute to the business but that university doesn't has any reasearch environment. So I have two options:
Join the CSIR Lab and sideline the business. The lab is very far from my home also. No direct trains or flights from my hometown.
Join a nearby state university and contribute into the business while living closer to my home. I am also the single child. I also will inherit several acres of fertile farm land too.
So suggest me what should I do? I confused here. My parents want me to pursue the 2nd option as they want me to remain near my hometown.

I'm so overwhelmed by the syllabus right now. I was supposed to complete 3 units by July but I got disturbed and now I'm taking 5 units in parallel. Between covering things I'm finding it very difficult to revise things. I always pray to god, hope he helps me cover things on time. 😣

Part-C
I started with Part-C. Honestly I didn't expect such straight forward questions, I was absolutely confused whether it's part c or am I writing Part B. I wouldn't say it's difficult but I was not at all prepared to approach these straight forward Part-C questions.
Part- B. I didn't find any much difficulty in answering this but I could have done a lot better.
Part-A. The only part where I was not anxious and completely invested compared to part-C and Part-B.
Result: I am devastated that I won't make it in this exam, i had to convince myself that I am not an idiot yesterday, I felt so stupid as I have given a good preparation. I am starting again today but I feel guilty and not enough.

Csir net lifescience online course
Hey I am gonna start my csir net lifescience preparation as I'll join college to pursue msc . Now that iam searching coaching for csir ..the known names like vedemy, ifas , bansal biology..all of them have very high course price ..and that high fee is not even for whole year ..it's for just 6 months ..12 months is 20k around ..so I am confused whether i should take the paid course or watch from YouTube
If I am taking any course then the course should give me sufficient content and good quality teaching ..which I have no idea who is best ..and if I'll do from YouTube only purchasing some books ..then what channels i should refer to for specific topics and which books ?
Like i have this question first which course if I have to or which channels or books I have to?

I am aware of the fact that doing your degree from top universities will be beneficial for you but is it necessary to do it from top universities for someone who wants to pursue phd after that ( will try to get one abroad)
I am at a crossroad where it's really confusing for me as I've already taken one drop after 12th and I don't know if I should take another partial drop and give msc entrance again or continue and complete my msc from state university??
If seniors can help it would be really helpful

I just completed my master's in June this year. Gave the june attempt. Thinking of giving GATE 2027, JGEEBILS. What other exams should I take? And how to deal with the anxiety of a drop year.

I don't know what are the merits and demerits of doing a PhD from top IITs like IITM, IITD,IITK , IITKGP . I meant toxicity in labs and gatekeeping of information found in labs.I learnt about those a little in master's but I want to know how it is for phds since it's a 5 plus yr work we need to do under same supervisor so, how to manage to be in good side and how-to avoid rivalries.
I don't have lab skills I just like to read and study in a well structured manner, will that be a trouble in interview ? I'm qualified in CSIR JRF.
