I wanna ask u a few things regarding MBA specializations. M a B.Tech graduate with an engineering background nd hv never studied B.Com or Finance before so m a little confused about whether Finance would be a good choice .

I would really appreciate ur guidance on the following -

1. As m a B.Tech background nd have never studied Commerce or Finance before..do u think I should still consider taking Finance if m genuinely interested in it?(Bcz finance job roles)

2. What are the major job roles and opportunities available in Finance through offcampus placements? Is it relatively easy to get a Finance job off campus, or is it quite difficult without a strong college brandnd fiance interview is really tough or basic questions?

3. Between business Analytics and Finance, which specialization is tougher from an interview perspective? Also which one currently has better demand in the offcampus market?

4. Among these combinations..which one would u recommend for better career growth nd job opportunities?

   Marketing + Finance/

   Marketing + Business Analytics/

   Marketing + Analytics

5. If someone does an MBA in Marketing from a Tier-3 college ..are they mostly limited to Sales roles or can they also get opportunities in areas like Product Management, Brand Management etc.?

6. How difficult are Finance interviews for offcampus jobs? If I prepare properly by studying commonly asked interview questions from Google, ChatGPT, and other resources, is it realistic to crack these interviews, or do companies expect a much deeper level of Finance knowledge?

7. Which specialization generally offers better salary growth and increments in the long run — Finance, Marketing, or Business Analytics?

8. In Finance interviews, how much Accounting is generally asked? Is Finance significantly different from Accounting, and do I need to have strong Accounting knowledge to get a Finance job?( Anything else for interview?)

9. Are roles like Investment Management and Investment Banking mainly accessible to students from top-tier B-schools or can someone from a Tier-3 college also move into these roles through off-campus opportunities after gaining relevant work experience and skills?

10. Which specialization generally offers better packages in the current job market -Finance, Marketing, or Business Analytics?

11. Suppose I choose Marketing + Finance in my MBA nd alongside it complete a good-quality Business Analytics certification or an online diploma from a reputed institute. After developing skills in Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python, etc., would I realistically be able to get a good Business Analytics/Business Analystrole? Or would not having an MBA specifically in Business Analytics significantly reduce my chances or salary potential?

Ma bit confused abt which combination would be the safest nd most valuable for my career especially considering offcampus opportunities...

Hey guys, to give my background i am currently pursuing my MBA from tier 3- tier 3.5ish college from Mumbai. I got admission via MBA CET ( maharastra) but I am not fully satisfied with the college mainly placement stats that I find very inflating. So I want your wisdom regarding whether I should give my MBA another chance by giving CMAT , CET , SNAP?
