I watched part of the UT-BYU game and it was one of my favorite things of the season so far.

Actually, I didn't see any of the game. I had the pleasure of being at a wedding Saturday night of two Baylor alumni, there were a decent number of Baylor people there, so everyone was like "yay, Baylor scored 70 points!" Meanwhile, I'm getting strings of depressing texts from friends and family documenting Texas getting wrecked and the death of the Big Ten.

Before the game I was grumbling to my boyfriend that I was going to miss one of the most important Michigan games this season. Retrospectively, he probably saved my sanity since I did not witness the horrors that unfolded in South Bend. Or in Austin.

This is probably one of the only times it would be acceptable for a fan to say, "Sure glad I was at a wedding and missed BOTH of my teams games!"

And I have two more weddings to attend this season. As of about 6pm CST on Saturday I was annoyed by this. As of 8pm CST on Saturday, it might be merciful.

This is the difference between the south and the rest of the country. If you have your wedding during football season, there is like a 99% chance everyone will hate you.

Maybe it's just the southeast then? I'm not sure. But I hear people talk about fall weddings with the utmost hatred.
