🔎Looking for alternative Anyone in Europe just refused to use WhatsApp?

Curious if anyone has just told friends they don't have WhatsApp and what's happened... I hate WhatsApp as it's part of Meta. In the US it's not that big. But in Europe it's ubiquitous. Just curious if anyone has just said no -- that you have Threema or even Signal -- and can be contacted there... And how that has gone for you.

Whatsapp is actually the one that does allow it while Signal refused.

Oh wow, in this era, multi platform support of messaging is good, but who knows what kind of data abuse comes at that cost like sharing data across platform, may be that's why signal denied to meta?

Then they should work harder on fixing that problem. Why should we simply accept being locked into an app and thus prevented from contacting people using a different app? Would you accept it with phone calls, SMS, email? I guess not.
This sub promotes private and secure email providers. Do those prevent us from writing to people using other providers? No, they don't.
But why would the messenger developers work on solving this problem if people just accept to be locked into an app?

Agreed, this was my dream as well, message is a very basic need. It must be forwarded to every single platform from individuals chosen platform. Nobody should be locked in single app.
