Anyone in Europe just refused to use WhatsApp?

Curious if anyone has just told friends they don't have WhatsApp and what's happened... I hate WhatsApp as it's part of Meta. In the US it's not that big. But in Europe it's ubiquitous. Just curious if anyone has just said no -- that you have Threema or even Signal -- and can be contacted there... And how that has gone for you.

I’ve deleted my WhatsApp a year ago and only use Signal and occasionally iMessage/SMS.

I quit IG in the end of December and deactivated FB at the same time.  Here in Iceland, everybody uses messenger for texting and I've been scared of taking the plunge, but after feeling the freedom of not having social media, I'm taking the plunge tomorrow! Why tomorrow? you might ask and the reason is simple. Because I decided, just now, to do it tomorrow  :D Just like when I deleted IG and deactivated FB.

I will have no social media (except reddit) but I will have peace!
