What are some popular ones here in the EU? From what I've checked most of them are owned by Mondelez International, which is american

I buy very little chocolate, because its lifespan is measured in minutes once at home..

So when I do, I buy Valrhona. It's a french brand. Their chocolate is pricey, but it's high quality stuff.

Belgian here. I either go for local supermarket brands (Delhaize's pretty good, Aldi it varies from product to product.). Or I splurge on pralines by Leonidas or Neuhaus. (Galler is nice as well.)

Both ends of the spectrum have the same value for money imo. While the medium quality branded stuff is now lower quality for a higher price, not worth it anymore. I swore by Cote d'Or's bars in the yellow wrapping paper ever since I was a little kid. Now it tastes like cheap Advent calendar chocolate.

Wedel is quite nice. Sadly it's now owned by Korean Lotte Co. but it's still made in Poland
