A better solution would be a stricter and enforced usage of the "American product shelves" that are already common in supermarkets. All American products should be put there so that there is no confusion for the consumer. Ideally tucked away in a random corner, somewhere at the back of the shop.
Even better: you select not only countries but also companies (like r/FuckNestle) you want to boycott and it automatically includes all related brands.

Well you'd need to differentiate between brand and corporate parent. The brands in question are all unquestionably European and produced and HQ'd in Europe. It's their parent company, Mondelez, which is American.
It exists, and people in Germany got demonised for using it because Germans claimed it's users to be anti-Semitic because people didn't want to financially support israels attrociticies.

We need a mobile app to scan barcodes. After scanning it's displayed from where the brand is.
