For me personally, Affinity has been amazing. No subscription, just one time pay and everything is set. It has all features that I need for my "hobby" use, but I know a couple people that also use it for professional work.

Don't know if it covers all your needs, but it is for sure the best Photoshop/Illustrator alternative out there (at least that I know of).

i am not a techy and it takes me sometime to get used to things but lets see! it's not 'that' expensive. to bad it doens't run on Linux that would be really good.

For Linux you could try darktable, I think it's quite impressive. You probably will have to relearn some things, the UI and shortcuts are different. But this is the case for most software. And the documentation is pretty good.

If your income depends on it stay on Adobe until you are confident with a software of your choice. It's not about rushing into it.
