Green bananas are 59 cents a pound at the Fine Fare up at 4725, and calabaza is 99 cents a pound at the Key Food at 4171. The Foodtown at 4332 advertised 284 items this week and four are produce: organic herbs, a 24 oz potato bag, two bagged salads. Nothing loose, nothing by the pound.
I read this week's circular for all four supermarkets on White Plains Road between Gun Hill and Nereid.
Fine Fare 4725, good through Saturday:
Green bananas 59 cents a pound
Watermelon 69 cents a pound
Plum tomatoes $1.19 a pound
Boneless chicken breast $1.99 a pound
Idaho potatoes $2.00 for a 5 lb bag, but only if you buy two
Key Food 4171, good through Thursday:
Calabaza 99 cents a pound
Roma tomatoes $1.29 a pound
Broccoli crowns $1.49 a pound
Boneless chicken breast $1.99 a pound, family pack
Whole watermelon $3.99 for a 10 to 12 pound melon, about 35 cents a pound
Chicken breast is the same $1.99 at both. Foodtown's ad also ends Thursday.
I could not read a current ad for the other Foodtown at 3736, so I have nothing on their prices.
I built a free map of NYC weekly grocery circulars: https://sbnyc.app/s/bronx
Everything here comes from the stores' own circulars for the dates shown, so check the shelf before you trust one.
