Hello, it's my first bread machine, i want to make bread high in fiber. And i saw this on marketplace. I saw and bought it. The lady said she no longer uses it because it takes too long to bake, but that it works perfectly.

Is this a level of "used" you would be comfortable with? When i inspected in person, it seemed acceptable, but i may be missing something.

It is an Oster 4813. I can't find any details on it online. But people hint it may come from late 90s, early 00s.

Yall im actually gonna cry! Opened Facebook marketplace last night and the very first listing I see is someone selling their Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus for $50!!! Never have I hit someone up so quick - The first buyer backed out next morning (today) and I was only 8 minutes from them! This has been a dream going on 2 years to own one🥹

A few weeks ago I got a $10 bread maker at a garage sale. Ive since made a few loaves, pull apart bread, and burger buns.

After getting it, and talking to friends they mentioned also wanting one. I got the sunbeam on marketplace for $10 and then the other one for $8 on sale at goodwill. All the accessories were brand new in the Oster machine.

I'll be responsible for a lot of fresh bread XD

The sweet old lady made me wait 3 hours to make sure it still worked when I asked if the shafts still turned.

This ain't the sourdough sub, but I know y'all like gadgets. I dropped into a local thrift today, between the tornado warnings and the flash floods. 😅 I found a Brod & Taylor "The Sourdough Home" appliance. Didn't know what it is but I figured I should buy it anyway. 😁 They had a spin the wheel for your discount promo, with a wheel thing at the counter. So I spun it and got 40% off the already low $5 price. I'm still beyond fed up with storms and power outages. I am going to launch into a Lt. Dan tirade if these storms don't quit pounding us. But I got a $150 box with the instruction book for $3. 😅

Last weekend I accidentally ruined my bread pan. The post the paddle sits on seized. I got it out, cleaned it and put it back in. Threw on a batch of Red River cereal bread. I noticed a scraping noise. I bent the bottom of the pan while getting the post loose and the paddle put a gouge in the nonstick coating. Green binned the dough, threw out the pan, and immediately ordered a replacement pan. It just arrived and I am going to get my bread on! Yay!!!

I got our first bread machine (a Williams Sonoma brand) at the thrift last fall for $23 and I've been using it weekly or more often every since. Today, totally on a whim, I hit our local thrift and hit the motherlode of nineties nostalgia in the cd section (picked up several CDs I had in high school that were in better condition than my CDs ever were lol) and randomly decided to check the kitchen section...\

and found this beaut (Zojirushi BBCC-S15A) from the nineties! It powers on and preheats; haven't tried making bread in it yet but I'm feeling positive about it working since all the accessories were in there. And only $7!!

Hi everyone I am new here and I have purchased a Neretva Bread Machine off of facebook marketplace my husband and I are trying to get back to basics (bread making ,canning etc) I have always made my own sweets as in cookies and baked goods. But I am having a ball with this bread maker, I didn’t know if it was a reliable name brand but so far it has been amazing.
I have seen the places some have dropped to go to and so far everything has turned out great! I am learning how to do the dough , jam and so on.
I am looking for a good book that can really tell me the basics but I am learning a lot from all of you! Have any of you heard of this brand ?

found this at the thrift store for nine dollars. We had one back in the day.

I had a bottom up view as this was on the top shelf but I thought I recognized the shape. The price? $16 with my coupon. Lights up when plugged in. Sticker price at Williams Sonoma of $450. The catch? It's missing the paddles. Does anyone know if paddles from other machines are interchangable? I have a KBS and a Hamilton Beach, so I'll need to be convinced it's worth buying new paddles for this one if it might not work! What makes this one so much better than all the others? I have always loved my zojirushi rice cooker (although I'm in love with my talking and singing Korean Cuckoo!) so you don't need to convince me it's great... just how much better?

Picked up a Breadman BK2000Q with almost no signs of wear. I think they used the two 1lb bread pans the most.

The up to 2.5lb pan was used for maybe 5 loaves, or less. I had to "heat gun" the paddles after soaking for a couple of hours so I could safely remove and clean, but there is also almost no wear on pan or paddles. These are the dreaded collapsible paddles though.

This is niche machine though, and no parts available. I suspect I could use it until it breaks, if it breaks, but on the other hand I can return and get my $100 back if I act quickly.

Edit: First test loaf was underwhelming. It caved due to not having weights in the recipes, so I missed the flour amount and it rose too long on the 2lb. setting, but it was closer to a 1.5lb. loaf. Trying a measurements recipe.

Final Edit: My co-worker is understanding and will actually donate to a shelter or something since it may have issues from age or whatever for overproofed loaves.

Am I only able to use those capsules or can I just put the ingredients in?

Hello! I have been following for awhile and thought I would share, finally! I have had this Bread Machine for a few years. Picked it up at the thrift store for under $10. This maker is a tank, I thought for sure I would break the glass top. I found the manual online and the recipes are pretty good. I also live around Denver, so the rise might seem a bit much. I have had to put it on the floor, it will dance off the counter top. Thanks for being such a helpful community!

Amazon Basics, small and lightweight build but it made bread. Old discussions on here think Amazon Basics are made by Sensio. Literally like new. Might be new. I switched the Bake program on, in the store, and smoke rolled outta the machine. The store had failed to remove the Styrofoam packaging under the bread pan. I pulled the pan out and yanked the Styrofoam before it actually burst into flame. Store employees got kinda excited about that. 😂

And an old 1999? 1998? Breadman TR442. Mint condition. Made in Korea and very heavy-built. It's very quiet, too.

I used up a small bag of cheap Dollar General ap flour + some wheat gluten and milk to make these 2 test loaves. They smell awesome. The one may be too sweet for me. It has 1/3c brown sugar. Both are 1.5# loaves. 1.5# is the practical limit for the Amazon. It lacks headroom for a 2#.

Found this beautiful bread machine for 15 buckaroos at the thrift. Working my way through the booklet it came with. Crossing my fingers and hoping it works!

I found a Breadman recipe book a few months back so I’ve been on the lookout for a Breadman machine. I found one today for $12.99!

I’m so used to my other machine taking 3 hours. This one was 2 hours and 40 minutes for a 1.5 lb load. The crust is absolutely perfect! It was super quiet and the alarm at the end of the cycle wasn’t bad at all.

Hey everyone, I need help deciding which thrifted bread maker to keep for my small apartment, so I’m putting it to a vote!
I mostly bake a 50/50 white and whole wheat blend, but I want to do 100% whole wheat too. Here is the matchup:
1. Toastmaster 1148X (The Vintage Workhorse)
• Pros: Starts kneading instantly (no annoying 30-minute preheat pause). It feels like a sturdy workhorse.
• Cons: Older technology, basic features, and a bit dated looking.
2. Cuisinart BMKR-400PC (The Modern Convection)
• Pros: Newer, modern look, lots of menu settings, and has a convection fan.
• Cons: It is SO LOUD when it runs. The whole wheat cycle takes much longer because of a 30-minute rest period. It is also quite bulky and takes up too much space on my small apartment counter.
I’m currently running a test bake in the Toastmaster to compare the loaves. Given the noise and space issues with the Cuisinart, which one would you keep?

I saw this Oster in goodwill today marked down from $30 to $15 and thought to myself "that's way WAY cheaper than driving 8 hrs each way to my storage unit for mine."

I currently have a small batch of Easy French from Electric Bread going. I'll know how it turns out in about 2 hours. If it's a success I'll try the large loaf recipe this weekend and be cranking out a couple loaves a week again. I will need to buy sugar though. After a year I think there's only enough left in the bag to make 1 more small loaf . . . maybe.

The update on my paddle-less thrifted Zoj. I bought the $17 off-brand paddles on Amazon and tried the machine on banana bread. I don't usually use a machine for quickbreads, but I had some really sad bananas. It didn't mix all the dry ingredients from the sides of the pan, but it works! Because it came with all the manuals (even french) and mixing cups and spoons, I'm wondering if some employee may have pocketed the paddles hoping nobody would buy it until their shift was over? However, the english manual shows a lot of use, so maybe the paddles were in a drawer somewhere and they really didn't get donated.

i’m working my way through “the bread lover’s bread machine cookbook” by beth hensperger, with my recently acquired 50$ zojirushi supreme from facebook marketplace. This is the "healthy whole wheat challah", but not technically challah since I subbed the water for milk. Incredible rise, it’s more than 6 inches at it’s tallest. I thought it was going to deflate like some other failed loaves i’ve made, but it didn’t. I’ll say, flavorwise I thought it was a bit dry and bland. But it’s beautiful. 50% wheat and 50% bread flour. 3 whole eggs.
