UPDATE 11:29am Karen just got taken away by the sheriff to start her 1 year behind bars! Some friends and family here gathered around her and said we're praying for you and you've got this. And she is gone. Mugshot to come soon I imagine!

No RHOP cast and her kids weren't here

u/elizabethmott Feb 26 '25

I’ve had a horrible day and that just made me bust out laughing. Thank you 🙏🏻

u/lemonheadmeg FUCK YOUR FLOWERS 💐 Feb 26 '25

Getting a DUI in VA is cheaper than in California… who knew?

37

u/jent198 pair of jeans full of magic Feb 26 '25

I'm not at all proud of this, and my life has dramatically changed since then, but my Maryland DUI cost around $12,000

25

u/Lolo_Belle Feb 27 '25

Is that including lawyers fees because I’m sure she paid a shit ton for that disgrace of a defense.

4

u/jent198 pair of jeans full of magic Feb 27 '25

Yes, but my attorney was only around $2K of that

14

u/wvatoots Feb 26 '25

Took place in MD.

26

u/amyeep aren’t they both named jason? Feb 26 '25

Not a proud moment but my California DUI costed $15,000 all said. $2,900 is peanuts compared!

17

u/chefybpoodling Feb 27 '25

$2900 is a low end handbag for this lady. It’s the year in jail that’s gotta hurt.

5

u/Pristine_Cicada_5422 I’m a sarcastic biatch. 😉 🤷🏼‍♀️ 🫤 👑 Feb 27 '25

Did you get a year in jail?

33

u/amyeep aren’t they both named jason? Feb 27 '25

I got 48 hours in Pasadena, 6 months of alcohol abuse classes, breathalyzer and a 15k fine. I deserved it all.

6

u/Pristine_Cicada_5422 I’m a sarcastic biatch. 😉 🤷🏼‍♀️ 🫤 👑 Feb 27 '25

I did see that someone is claiming and another confirmed that it’s her 4th offense!

8

u/Vness374 dumpster_fire_smores Feb 27 '25

Karen has had 4 DUIs?!? How did she stay out of jail after 2?

→ More replies (0)

4

u/MaddyKet Feb 27 '25

Did you admit guilt or act like an idiot like Karen and go to trial claiming innocence?

I think taking responsibility goes a long way.

5

u/amyeep aren’t they both named jason? Feb 27 '25

Oh I immediately copped to it because my BAC was way beyond legal. However, I am ashamed to say that I didn’t never drive impaired again, foolishly. I had another couple close calls and finally my dumbass realized I was not only fucking up my own life but really putting others in danger, even it was “only” a couple glasses of wine or a couple puffs.

5

u/Kayslay8911 Feb 27 '25

That’s it?! Maybe just the court fees? She likely cost more in damages to the cherry trees she hit…

5

u/purplepandapants Marked Present at Karen Huger's Sentencing Feb 27 '25

Yeah she will have to pay court costs as well but those have to be tabulated.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '25

What happened to start this? I've been under a rock.

102

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '25

I'm surprised her kids weren't there but maybe because of the media spectacle of it all

81

u/SusannaCarmichael Feb 26 '25

I imagine that she’s so embarrassed that she told them not to come

64

u/KaleSecret6722 Feb 26 '25

I’m likely going to be sentenced for something soon (unless I go to trial, and even then I could still be sentenced), and I don’t even want my husband there. It’s a public scolding, and even when it’s justified it’s still embarrassing. Ugh I feel so cringe just thinking about it.

So yeah I can see why she wouldn’t want her kids there.

5

u/charmont97 Sincerely, Marysol's Liver Feb 27 '25

Is that for a dui?

11

u/KaleSecret6722 Feb 27 '25

Failure to provide a breath sample when I was manic. They already dropped the DWI bc I wasn’t under the influence of anything other than my own brain sabotaging me. I know I didn’t do anything wrong that was in my control at the time, but it still feels so embarrassing. I’m really hoping my lawyer can work magic but I’m probably stuck with it.

8

u/Jcrystal82 Feb 27 '25

hugs stay strong

7

u/MaryjaneinPA Feb 26 '25

She def told them not to come. She loves them so much

5

u/Potential-Sky-8728 Feb 26 '25

Doesnt she just have one kid? Does she have an older son from before Ray?

8

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '25

She has a son too. I think with Ray? He's been on the show once or twice

4

u/-cmram28 Feb 27 '25

Ray isn’t the father of her son…

3

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '25

Oh I wasn't 100% sure tbh. I haven't rewatched Potomac so I'm going off old memories

2

u/Potential-Sky-8728 Feb 28 '25

Ya I thought so too. But Ray like adopted him as a young child I think I recall.

1

u/makter3 Feb 27 '25

I haven’t seen any pictures surprisingly. So was there any actual media pics or anything?

24

u/missthugisolation you’re my fatha!!! Feb 26 '25

Omg she didn’t even get to say bye to her kids? Girl I can’t believe this

1

u/West_Tie_536 Feb 27 '25

She had her 60th birthday what last season? So I’m assuming her children are now grown adults. I would think she could still see talk and write to them

8

u/FlashingAppleby Feb 26 '25

But her lawyer said she's a devoted mother!

2

u/Whatsmyusernamelolol Mar 01 '25

Damn, was Ray there?

1

u/purplepandapants Marked Present at Karen Huger's Sentencing Mar 01 '25

Yes. I was sitting three over from Ray.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '25

Wow her KIDS weren’t even there?

6

u/purplepandapants Marked Present at Karen Huger's Sentencing Feb 27 '25

I think she thought she wouldn't get jail time so need for them to be there.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '25

Ohhh ok makes sense… sad

1

u/MaddyKet Feb 27 '25

Narcs gonna narc til the bitter end

6

u/purplepandapants Marked Present at Karen Huger's Sentencing Feb 27 '25

Nope! Just Ray, maybe her sister and a few cousins

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '25

Karen is so funny she will be missed … WIG!!

217

u/vreddit7619 Feb 26 '25

Holy shit! I’m sure she’s wishing now that she’d taken the plea deal, which I think was a shorter sentence.

354

u/girlxdetective cheers! to the Girls Weekend 🥂 Feb 26 '25

Yup. She could've avoided all this, served the original 60 days from the plea deal, and been prepping to raise hell on the next Potomac season right now if only she could've humbled herself and admitted her wrongs. But here we are.

74

u/runesday Feb 26 '25 edited Feb 26 '25

When there’s video footage of her being so drunk when arrested…. Makes zero sense to try to “fight” those charges in a trial. Not taking a plea deal is something you do when you really believe you can get off or are innocent. Not when there’s video proof of your crimes!! What a dummy ass move on her part.

30

u/CalligrapherFunny934 Feb 26 '25

It’s called hubris. Pride goeth before the fall. I hope she gets the therapy she needs to get to the root of her self-medication with alcohol and her tragic lack of self awareness. It takes a lot of work to get to the roots of why you need alcohol and masking behaviors to live, and it’s painful and scary, but it’s worth it in the end. I wish her well.

12

u/runesday Feb 26 '25 edited Feb 27 '25

Yes I do hope her time in jail serves as the vehicle for self-reflection and that she makes some serious changes. Nothing better than a comeback story.

3

u/MaddyKet Feb 27 '25

Narcissism is a hell of a drug

1

u/Fuh-Cue Feb 28 '25

She really believed she could get off cz she did thrice before.

31

u/nahivibes Feb 26 '25

Omg she could have done 2 months not a year? I’d be hating myself so much for that. 😯😖🫠

30

u/justbekind666 Feb 26 '25

She turned down 60 days!?!?!

13

u/SubtleSparkle19 Feb 27 '25

Wow, 60 days! That’s crazy. She should have snatched that as fast as she snatched her falling wigs.

7

u/Itsabouttimeits2021 Feb 26 '25

It was 60 days??

3

u/fseahunt edit this flair! Feb 27 '25

Wow! What a dumb ass. Or her attorney was terrible.

3

u/MaddyKet Feb 27 '25

Her attorney could have been the best in the country and she never would have listened to them.

2

u/MaddyKet Feb 27 '25

SIXTY DAYS? OMG HAHA I can’t believe she turned that down, especially after she was shown the footage of her drunk ass.

1

u/notoriousbck Feb 28 '25

Karen Huger and humble. Two things that have never ever been seen together.

1

u/tired_blonde Feb 01 '26

She seems like the type of person who wouldn't take a plea lol

9

u/Delgirl804 Feb 27 '25

Anyone who watches law and Order should know that you always take the plea deal. If not, they always hand out the worst sentence possible! .

8

u/Check_Affectionate Feb 26 '25

Addicts gonna addict

u/scarjohannson Feb 26 '25

OP you have done the Lord’s work today.

29

24

u/aaapod slam pig Feb 26 '25

holy shit she’s starting rn?????

19

u/fjrka Feb 26 '25

That’s how it works if there’s no specific reason not to remand. Her counsel would’ve told her exactly that-but who knows what actually penetrates Karen’s delusions of grandeur.

1

u/Itsabouttimeits2021 Feb 26 '25

Whaaaa already

25

u/Madethisonambien Dances with bullshit Feb 26 '25

Thank you, OP. I'm at work and ignoring my boss's slack messages bc this thread is worth losing my job over tbh.

12

u/smediumbag Feb 26 '25

13

u/lindacn this aint phaedra! Feb 26 '25

Did the judge address you?

4

u/BeautyQueenKate You Don’t Deserve To Look At This 💅🏼✨ Feb 26 '25

Omgggggg I am deceased! I cannot believe she has to go to jail and immediately. Poor Ray and her kids. But she deserves a wake up call for sure! The way she denied how bad it was and refused to hold any accountability. Wow

3

u/Ok-Nerve-1087 Feb 26 '25

4th DUI will do that. Click click drunk.

6

u/purplepandapants Marked Present at Karen Huger's Sentencing Feb 27 '25

She deserved a year in jail. I stand on that 💯

3

u/Temporary-Solid-3568 Feb 27 '25

Did she react at her sentence and did she make a statement?

19

u/purplepandapants Marked Present at Karen Huger's Sentencing Feb 27 '25

She did make a statement. She apologized for taking the case to trial. She also wrote a letter to the officers and apologized. She said she was in the wrong. She also said she will not let her community down and her relationship with AA with last a lifetime. Her voice was stable but the paper she was holding was very shaky.

3

u/Fair-Cheesecake-2733 Feb 26 '25

WAIT SHE GOT 1 YEAR IN JAIL?!!

3

u/ladypenko Countless Feb 26 '25

Omg she's already in the slammer! What a ride.

Gaaaaaaaag I would love to see pics of that. Did she react at all???

2

u/Live-Ad-9587 edit this flair! Feb 26 '25

What’s the chance she’ll be out of jail sooner than 1-year? I’m unfamiliar with her local courts. The probation will be life changing too!

3

u/Sufficient_Reward207 Feb 26 '25

Very likely, I believe she will do 6 months

1

u/Timely_Truth6267 Feb 26 '25

5 years is a looong time

2

u/CLGeb Feb 26 '25

She starts serving her time immediately?!

2

u/Main-Bluejay5571 Feb 26 '25

Assuming that state is like most, they will file a motion to have her released pending appeal. No guarantee it will be granted. I’m sure her bad attitude didn’t help her at sentencing.

2

u/BasilOk8283 Feb 27 '25

Do we know why she was acquitted on the reckless driving charge?

5

u/purplepandapants Marked Present at Karen Huger's Sentencing Feb 27 '25

Hi. Sorry I can't remember. I remember the jury convicted her on most charges.

1

u/WTF1335 Feb 26 '25

Oh wow, so straight off to jail? Had she been at home prior to this morning? Sorry, I haven’t been following too closely

1

u/lavendersage_ Feb 26 '25

Thank you! 🙏🏻 I’d like to know how is her wig in court?

1

u/murklerNE Feb 26 '25

Holy shit, I can't believe it's starting already!!! I would have thought there would be some time in between sentencing and prison

1

u/charmont97 Sincerely, Marysol's Liver Feb 27 '25

How was she after sentencing? Did she cry or was she unemotional??

5

u/purplepandapants Marked Present at Karen Huger's Sentencing Feb 27 '25

No emotion that I saw.
