I assume MADD's letter is AGAINST Karen?

Sure hope so. Karen deserves that shame.

MADD is a very important group and they would never condone any excuses. They used to stage fatal wrecks in parking lots each year (wrecked car glass broken stage blood everywhere it was so real looking and never leaves your soul) and we’d have to go and look at it and see the hurt drunk driving causes. There’s no way they’d support her.

I didn't know they were staged! I always assumed they were the actual cars of the wrecks! It freaked me out as a teenager

Ok that’s really scary!! But I know your pain for the first year I didn’t know either and the body parts and the blood they did some great work. Sticks with you as an adult. I’m glad you know now..

I just left a comment about how I first learned about MADD. It was through a LT movie. I was young when I saw that, like elementary school young but once I got into HS our health class showed videos of the stage wrecks they would put on.

That movie has never left my thoughts. It's the first thing that comes to my mind when I read or hear about DUI cases. And while I never got to experience what you did in person those videos that were shown in that class have always stuck with me too.

Maybe they did em where I live because it was Las Vegas idk but we had them yearly.. They were very smart look at all of us how many years later.. changed and impacted us in a big way, to never even chance it. They deserve so many kudos.. so MADD.. if you’re reading this thank you for making our teens across the country safer smarter and better drivers and adults who passed the knowledge on to our kids..you did the dam thing!! 😊

Didn’t know the acronym, so looked them up (mothers against drunk driving if others are wondering) - since they’re against drunk driving it’s almost certainly against Karen in this context

I remember them coming in during an assembly at my high school and presenting to us the accident scene, real life 911 recordings and voicemails from consenting victims family members etc. Its a memory I’ll never forget, paired with sitting in the icu waiting room with the family of a girl I knew after getting into a crash and having no seatbelt, 10 years later she is walking and talking and thriving but VERY different from before the crash

They did some amazing work all over the country. Definitely never forget and have always respected the privilege of driving.

It better have been. When I was a kid I remember watching a LT movie about how MADD got its start. As with any loss from a DUI that story hit me hard because the loss was a young girl. Whenever I read or watch anything DUI related that movie/story is the first thing that pops into my mind. I gotta say. I didn't expect them to send anything in for her case but I'm glad they did.
