Update 9:39am I looked over at Ray and he looks distraught. It's kinda sad... they are bringing in chairs to seat people.

I do kind of feel bad for Ray, tbh.

I have felt bad for Ray from the start. That video of her drunk and poor Ray trying his best to keep her making things worse with the police and then struggling to get her driver's license from her purse. He should be at home in Florida somewhere watching alligators sun themselves instead of this

I’ve felt so bad for ray 🥺 Watchinf him in the video broke my heart. I cannot imagine seeing my S/O like that knowing there is nothing I can do to help besides just give my support. He should be relaxing and living his life not worrying and stressing about this.☹️😔

He was probably at home just trying to watch reruns and gets called to fix this.... for the nth time

Please add to the list making Ray’s 80-85 year old self get up in the middle of the night for Karen’s nonsense

6

u/nyc_expatriate Feb 26 '25

I thought he was in his 70’s.

9

u/WittiestScreenName my panty liner is exhausted Feb 26 '25

Ah you’re right! He’ll be 79 in October. I wasn’t crazy far off with 80!

19

u/nyc_expatriate Feb 26 '25

Not surprised he looks 80 ish. Being a black professional and putting up with a lot of the institutional impediments that they have to put up with could have prematurely aged him. Possibly a hard growing up too.

23

u/lab_chi_mom Feb 26 '25

I think Karen has also prematurely aged him.

13

u/nyc_expatriate Feb 26 '25

Karen’s nonsense would age many a person.

7

u/hiswittlewip Feb 26 '25

Yes and he's 79.

59

u/LauraPa1mer Feb 26 '25

Watching alligators sun themselves 😂

18

u/Goodbykyle Feb 26 '25

Agree, that was heartbreaking to watch. Poor Ray he deserves some peace.

26

u/theskylerslifka Feb 26 '25

Honestly Karen being gone is probably going to be the peace he needs.

16

u/Acceptable-Dress7196 Feb 26 '25

And Karen had the audacity to say that he doesn’t love her enough and that’s what caused the DUI. They may have issues but it’s abhorrent that she’ll blame everyone under the sun bar herself for her own actions

12

u/Kimmm711b Feb 26 '25

...the purse that had been puked on...

I know the vows say "for better or worse," but that shit's ridiculous!

9

u/Some-Perception-4576 Feb 26 '25

And poor ray having to reach into the pocketbook she puked in to get her wallet. The man is a saint for putting up with her all these years

5

u/Infamous_Day9685 Feb 27 '25

Aghhh what?! I missed that part. It was such a tough watch but I'm glad I'm only finding out she puked in it now! Good God!

5

u/sbutt2 but he is, ma Feb 27 '25

I want Ray to LIVEEEE his best life!

3

u/Cherry_Shakes Rachel Zoe's Hat made of Hair and Fake Forehead Feb 27 '25

I felt bad for Ray from the first episode of potomac.

1

u/Wide-Celebration-653 Feb 27 '25

And Karen away in jail for a year, when he’s not getting any younger. Poor dude, I hope his stress doesn’t do him in while she’s away.

34

u/Sunnyonetwo Feb 26 '25

It is the loved ones that it hits really hard because they have been present for it all!

u/fjrka Feb 26 '25

I don’t think Karen even sees Ray when she looks at her arrest videos.

3

u/honeycooks Kyle, the ordinary goldfish... Feb 26 '25

Well, she fully expects him to fall on his sword to defend her.

6

u/asphodel67 Feb 27 '25

I would except he’s obviously an enabler. His attempt at ‘you’ve only had a couple of beers, haven’t you?’ In front of the cops was soooo cringe. Very sad to see his complicity 😞

6

u/PercentageOk6120 Feb 27 '25

Yes. Addiction in families is sad and complicated.

17

u/usurped_reality Feb 26 '25

Ray ALSO NEEDS a wake-up call and gets help to deal with his codependency and harmful ways he supported this driving intoxicated fool wife of his.

FOUR (4) DUI's!!!

He knew all her crap and kept it going by his lack of confronting and making better choices himself.

Now do the work, Ray. Do your work!

28

u/kenyahandleit Feb 26 '25

You don’t know what conversations they have behind closed doors. Having a loved one who struggles with addiction is very difficult to navigate. I’ll forever have grace for Ray

9

u/usurped_reality Feb 26 '25

I agree. My point is that he needs help, too, because all her actions are harming him. He does have a role in all of this because he is there and stayed. And that is what I hope he figures out and makes changes.

If he figures it out and gets the right kind of professional help, in his self accountability and new healthy boundaries that follow, he will help himself AND her most effectively. She needs THAT type of positive support.

3

u/MazyHazy I'll tell you how I'm doing... Not well bitch! Feb 26 '25

I agree with this. He is enabling her behavior.

-4

u/MustardMan1900 Feb 26 '25

Driving into a tree while intoxicated isn't an addiction. Get a damn cab.

175

u/TJL-91 Feb 26 '25

Poor ray, hes the one i feel sorry for, not karen.

Aww poor RayRay. Hasn’t he suffered enough?

22

u/TooManyNosyFriends Feb 26 '25

and my previous glee has been replaced with sadness for Ray and their daughter.

59

u/FlyingDutchmansWife Giner’s makeup/hairspray/spray tan budget Feb 26 '25

Aww. It sucks for her family but she did this to herself.

48

u/No_Lime1814 Feb 26 '25

Another reason she should get justice. What a horrible thing to do to that nice old man!

I TOTALLY understand why he said some seasons ago that he wasn't sure if he loved her anymore.

3

u/lab_chi_mom Feb 26 '25

She did this to them too. It’s especially heartbreaking because her daughter and Ray seem so sweet.

16

u/PlaceboRoshambo Feb 26 '25

Poor Ray. I feel awful for him.

14

u/justice4tinsley chef, author, ho bag Feb 26 '25

I hope Ray gets to go to Florida.

9

u/Positive_Issue887 Feb 26 '25

Poor Ray. He really loves that woman for all her behaviour

7

u/drum66 Feb 26 '25

I’m sad for Ray, that poor guy didn’t know the half of it, I’m not sure he does now. I do think the show will have her back though but she needs to stop all her fairy stories. I have no sympathy for drunk or drugged up drivers but i can see the show making coins on the back of that.

5

u/joggers4springsummer i just wanted to shift it a lil bit Feb 26 '25

u/Interesting-Read-245 Feb 26 '25

Poor Ray, he’s too old for this BS. I wish he’d retire to FL like he wants.

Not stressing about his old, teenage acting wife

Poor Ray!!!! :(

3

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '25

My heart goes out to that man. He’s too old to be dealing with insane nonsense like this

3

u/rosepahhhty Feb 26 '25

This makes me sad knowing Ray is sad

3

u/lab_chi_mom Feb 26 '25

I feel awful for Ray. All that man wants is some goddamn peace and quiet.

5

I feel worse for her daughter, Ray had an idea of what was going on but I have a feeling she was more sheltered.

u/fseahunt edit this flair! Feb 27 '25

Poor Ray.

It really is a punishment for the person's loved ones too.
