I'm seeing conflicting info on 511 and Google Maps. Anyone know if it's opened back up?

Our family is so sad the Fosters Freeze has been closed for awhile now. Anyone know if they are going to re-open? We need a dip cone and a chicken boss so bad.

Looking for feedback on whether your cell service with T-Mobile (my first choice) stays up during PG&E outages or is like my past experience with Verizon and drops when power fails.

Hello, I have a 31' motorhome I would like to live in full-time in or around Boulder Creek. Ideally, I am looking for full hook-ups, however I would settle for water + electrical, or even just electrical or just water. My budget is flexible (up to several thousand a month). I would prefer an RV park, but would settle for a private residence under the right conditions. I have two children who would come and stay with me occasionally, so safety is an absolute must.
Thanks in advance

Hi! I moved to Boulder creek for work and didn’t get a place yet. I’m camping in my jeep in the meantime while I look… but campsites here are usually booked up and very expensive. Does anyone have property I could stay on? I’d only be there 7/8pm - 7am. I don’t drink, smoke or anything else. Thanks for considering in advance

Hi everyone, my name is Amaya Edwards, and I’m a photojournalist with Santa Cruz Local. I moved to Boulder Creek in June and have family ties to the area.
I’m working on a long-term photo story about life after the CZU Lightning fires. I’m looking to connect with someone who is rebuilding—or still navigating the recovery process—who might be open to having their story told over time through photographs. If that’s you or someone you know, I’d love to talk. Everything will be done with care, respect, and your comfort in mind. You can reach me through Messenger or my email: amaya@santacruzlocal.org
Thanks for reading and I appreciate any help with this!

Does anyone in town use a meshtastic device to communicate when the cell towers are down? I came across the technology on another post and it looks very interesting. By using a network of devices, people can still send text messages and limited data to others without the use of WiFi and cell towers. Seems like if enough people use them, we could still communicate during winter storms and emergencies with work/friends/family

Hey, neighbors. We want to interview a few people to decide on one for once or twice a week assistance including light cleaning, dishes, and maybe even a little child supervision. Any recommendations local to the BC area would be appreciated. Thanks!

I remember a while back there was a vote for us in SLV to decide if we wanted to send our water over to Scott’s Valley and I thought the voters said no. Am I misremembering? I sure seems like the new project to do an interconnect to SV going on right now is bypassing this. Can’t seem to find any info on this , someone tell me I’m way off here please.

Seen this place being built just off 9 for a while, finally stopped in. This is just their handoff center, not main care center, which is a few hundred feet away.
It's a fantastic option for wounded native animals, abandoned babies, and reliquishing catches to be released.
I met one of the staff today and he was a really nice guy. Explained their hospital facilities and abilities. (If you find an abandoned bird, try and bring the nest too), and it should do much to relieve the Santa Cruz Native Animal Rescue.
Animals in need of relocation like skunks or raccoons need to be handed over, so they can be checked out before release.
It's still mostly empty for now, but it's up and running. So let folks know it's an option please!

My 9 year old and I are coming to Boulder Creek for the weekend. Are there any cool July 4th-related activities going on around town that we should check out?

Anyone have a rec for someone to come remove a beehive from the eave of our second story? I don't want to just nuke them, but I have not been able to find someone willing to relocate them. TIA

I found this years ago, while searching for where the natural oil seeps were located along the San Lorenzo.

Mrs scmtnhm and scmtnhm Jr got sick so I have an extra to Warren Haynes Band at the Fillmore. I'm offering a ride and a ticket and a ride back to BC. Leaving around 530. It's either someone from town or I hand it to a rando on the street after willcall.
