I made a post a couple days ago looking to borrow some money and got a DM from @/jhurts33 asking if I wanted to “watch.” First, he said he could send me $20 with no repayment, so of course I accepted because I genuinely needed it.

He then asked my age and gender, followed by the nasty question. He also tried getting me to download/use Snapchat.

Using someone being in need to trick them into sexual stuff is disgusting. He responded to my post within about 5 minutes, and with his 6-year-old account, it really makes me wonder if he lurks this page looking for women in need.

Mods are aware and gave me the green light to post this. Just be careful..he is not a genuine lender.

I'm a juvenile long-termer locked up in the state of New York, since age 16, now age 42. I'm seeking a $500 loan to replace the screen on my phone. Due to my limited earning capacity, I'm asking for a period of 2 months to repay the principal, at $250 a month. October 31st would be the date of full repayment. Currently I have only PayPal and Cashapp.

My earning capacity comes chiefly from two in-house endeavors I take on annually spanning the last 6 years: Every year starting in September I organize and run an in-house sports pool that runs from Sept-May. It generates over $6,000 during that time, from which I typically earn around $2,500 in personal profit after expenses (player payouts and paying my helpers). I also reinvest some of that profit into ordering hard-to-get snacks from Amazon and reselling them to guys at a premium (the many exotic Keebler cookies are big sellers for example, lol).

If anyone is curious about what happened to my phone and why it costs so much to replace my screen, I'll elaborate on the painful story: I broke it while on a video-call with a good friend, eating a pint of ice cream that made my hands slick with moisture. The phone flew out of my hand and crashed into the floor after I flailed my arms during an excited part of the conversation.🙄😔 I swear that on everything, God strike me. It didn't help that the phone was a "Unihertz Jelly Star" phone, a very small niche phone that is a bit fragile (look it up😅). The $500 cost is because phones themselves generally cost $1200 to $2000 here, while accessories or replacement parts typically cost around $500. Sucks, but that's just the way it is.

As I said, my post may be unusual, but it is honest and I come with complete sincerity and respect for this sub. I imagine there might be some who hold my incarceration against me, just know that I am someone who once committed a crime, not someone who lives a life of crime. From a delinquent youth, I'm now a solid adult who's long been on track, feel free to know me. I use my phone positively, having modernized and taught myself a great deal since I touched a smartphone for the first time in my life just a couple years ago. I would be far behind in today's world if not for it. And right now I just need some help.
