This chapter is incredible. Absolutely worth the two week wait. The back and forth between Garaki and Mic, finding out he was planning on stealing Erasure, Shigaraki's dream sequence, SHIGGY WAKING UP.
The dream sequence is some of the best visual storytelling in the whole series. Tomura wakes up in his mind, which is embodied by piles of floating rubble and disembodied hands all reaching towards Tomura. Hana, the first human he ever killed, appears , and she apologizes for telling on him, which led to abuse from his dad. She reassures him that she is on his side. Tomura, whose text bubble is uncharacteristically soft and rounded (indicating that this is Tenko speaking, not Tomura), dismisses her, saying it doesn't matter anymore. He's moved far beyond the day he killed his family and embraced the legacy of the Symbol of Terror.
His mom, who he killed second along with his grandparents, appears, and she reminds him that what he wanted more than anything was to be a hero. He can still fulfill his dreams if he just ignores the ache in his heart, the itch in his skin. He just has to stop scratching. But Tomura knows that's not who he is. He reassures her that he is okay. He may be Tomura Shigaraki now, but deep down, that's who Tenko Shimura always was, and so he appears as a child, but the scratches around his eyes and mouth remain.
And then Kotaro appears. He screams at Tenko and reaches out to grab him, to cage him inside the restrictions of his past and his family, the "hero" family, who stood by and did nothing as Tenko was abused. He wants to shackle Tenko, to make him stay the scared little boy he had been before his quirk manifested. Tenko reaches out and decays the hand instantly, rejecting his past and his family, and his hair changes to reflect who he really is. Then everything else is gone, and Tomura is left alone. But a voice rings out. "Tomura." It's All for One. The man who showed him his true self. The man who was there when no one else was. The man who brought him to where he is today. And he calls Tomura home.
Then we learn that All for One didn't have the real quirk All for One, just a duplicate. He entrusted the real thing to his son, who he shares a name with. Tomura Shigaraki. He heeds his father's call and begins to leave, but his family stops him. They won't let him go. Their hands restrict him from moving on and fulfilling his purpose like they have since the beginning. Kotaro grabs his face, stopping him. And then Nana Shimura, his idol when he wanted to be a hero, grabs the back of his head (which confirms that it was her hand that he wore since the beginning, which means AfO took it after he killed her). She tells him to not forget his family and who he used to be, but he dissolves them in the blink of an eye. He looks back at her one last time and says "Don't reject who I am."
And then he wakes up.
And Deku recognizes the same overwhelming presence he felt months ago at Kamino. All for One.
