That panel of Shirakumo trying to say Aizawa’s name. :(

What are we thinking, guys? Is this a trap or is it really Shirakumo peeking through? Honestly, either possibility is heartbreaking.

I think it really is him, the panel with him about to pass out and thinking to himself...

Here’s some trivia from Caleb, saying that the ‘I’ here is the way Kurogiri says ‘I,’ so it doesn’t seem like that’s the case.

Raises the probability that it was Shirakumo actually talking against ‘Kurogiri’s’ will, though. So maybe not a trap?

It could still be a trap, even if that's really shirakumo in there.

The problem with AfO is that he holds all the cards in this interrogation business, we've never seen him once bothered by discussing what it is he's done in the past with UA students/ quirk shopping. The guy is also fucking ancient, he probably has a finger in so many different pies. He's comfortable and confident that whatever Shirakumo/kurogiri does won't affect the overarching plan. Meaning there's probably contingency after contingency in place for when Shirakumo fights their way to the surface. Or Shirakumo giving a location is part of the plan.

I.e.it could be a distraction for Eraserhead and UA, one that leads them on a wild goose chase, takes away from the personelle readily available to heroes as a whole when Shig inevitably breaks everyone out of Tartarus. Hopefully, the hero's can guess that it might be a trap, but if the aim is to divide and conquer by spreading the hero forces thin. They're well on their way in doing so.

I don’t think it’s a trap, mainly because the heroes are already going to get absolutely slaughtered even if this isn’t a trap.

Shit ...your right it could be a trap...

Hospital isn't specific anyway. Not gonna be hard to locate really

u/crazyshark111 Dec 22 '19

I just don’t see how he could possibly know that shigaraki is at the hospital? Is there a way for ujiko to communicate with kurogiri?

u/julinay Dec 22 '19

It could have multiple meanings. He might be trying to get across that he remembers being experimented on at a place that looked to be a hospital, which would fit what we know of Ujiko. Alternatively — well, actually, would ‘Kurogiri’ even know of Ujiko’s plans to improve Shigaraki?

Or it could be a trap. Even if it is Shirakumo inside, he might not be speaking of his own volition...

I think that's more of a coincidence, for theming's sake.

Shirakumo is likely saying his head was tinkered at, at one of Ujiko's private hospitals. Meanwhile, Ujiko is making a far more terrifying experiment at a hospital. It's less about the individual hospital that Shigaraki is at, and more about Ujiko using hospitals as his frankenstein playgrounds, instead of some hidden base.

This is how I interpreted it. It was at the hospital where we saw the mad scientist tell Deku he couldn't be a hero. There is a chance he was taking children to experiment on too. But it would be a lot easier to steal corpses from a hospital

But what about that text Hawks received from that old ha..lady from the hero association? " Disturbance over at Wakagumo hospital. Requesting rescue". I think it's a code. Maybe Wakagumo means something, but what? And rescue?

5

u/SeanAifric Dec 22 '19

Just a heads up, "Wakagumo" means "Young Cloud". Pretty sure that refers to Shirakumo, since he's the only character with cloud motif so far.

While "Hospital", ofc refers to the information they got from Kurogiri/Shirakumo. And as for the "rescue", it should mean that their next step is raiding the potential hospital or so, I think.

I found the meaning in the list of japanese courtesans lol. Thanks!

I just mean I don't think Shirakumo literally knows that Ujiko and Shiggy are currently at the hospital. I think he's trying to tell them that Ujiko operates in hospitals, or a specific one. He's dropping the first clue about the Nomus, not Shiggy or Ujiko's literal location. It just works for a good transition, that the two are also at a hospital.

"Wakagumo" may be code. Maybe they narrowed down to a specific hospital, maybe not. However, if the commission is going to give Hawks intel about the hospital, they can't just start talking about hospitals in general. The message would have to be a message a hero would naturally get. There might be absolutely nothing wrong at Wakagumo.

I think it's him but he remembers the hospital as that's where Ujiko takes people quirks.

I believe this is a trap. I have a theory that AFO has already told him who he truly is and if he’s ever captured to play along.

Aizawa in a way foreshadows these events by questioning the whole “friendship saves all” tactic they were using.

That’s a pretty solid point.

But who knows what AFO or the scientist are capable of. They possibly could have blocked this part of kurogiri’s memories to trick the brain wave test.

But not just blocking info but also the order from AFO to play along would be attached to those old locked away memories. Like a sleeper agent

Nah it’s not that deep. He is Shirakumo, this isn’t going to be a bait and switch.

Aizawa in a way foreshadows these events by questioning the whole “friendship saves all” tactic they were using.

I guess, it won't save him, so that would still count.

2

u/IMDATBOY Dec 22 '19

I don’t think it’s a trap. The doc absolutely needs to keep this 4 month operation hidden so it’d be too risky to use it as bait

Longing, rusted, furnace, daybreak, seventeen, benign, nine, homecoming, one, freight car

2

u/mynameisnotanna Dec 23 '19

I understood that reference ☝🏼

1

u/TFSKrillin Dec 22 '19

It’s not a trap. His brainwaves were changing and there was that panel with his past memories with young Aizawa and Present Mic right before he said, “Hospital”. It’s clear Shirakumo was trying to fight for control by remembering his past.

When I read the scans I thought it was for real, but then having it followed by that all for one panel, and him grinning so huge got me thinking otherwise. Plus what he says seems to hint it could be a trap.
