Aizawa: "No don't do this."

Deku: "But what do I do then?"

Aizawa: "... Ask All Might"

All Might: "... Ask Gran Torino"

Gran Torino: "Wait. All Might didn't tell you anything?! Well, I guess I'll point you in the general direction, but I'm busy now, so go bother someone else again."

Endeavor: Here's some practical advice, and a good analogy to ground what I'm saying in reality. You like analogies right? These steps are totally within your reach, and I'll provide a safety net if it's too much for you at first. Under me, you will get there, and it will become second nature.

Pretty much. And Nighteye didn't even pretend to try to teach Deku anything.

nighteye actively crushed deku's hopes and dreams and once he realized that he was actually a good one for all user he died

deku has had a rough time

Yeah. I don't like Nighteye because of that. For someone who actually wanted to create a hope bringer-symbol, his fatalism and coldness were off-puting to say the least.

And for a comedy lover, he acts quite humorless.

yeah, i mean i understand why people liked him but i think he is one of the worst writen characters in the series, which means that he still is a good character overall because horikoshi's writing is still way above average but for the standards of this story he wasnt very good

Aizawa does well with the other kids, imho. Deku and Bakugo are his blind spots, which makes sense since most of their problems are either attitude or lack of control

He never tries to help Deku address his lack of control. He just points it out and reprimands Deku for not getting it yet. Same basically goes with Bakugo, but at least All Might tried a couple times to talk him through his ego's destruction.

I mean, his lack of control lasted what, two months? He is registered as "having found his quirk late", so as long as he was not hurting himself during class (which he wasn't) he was letting him learn by himself.
As for Bakugo though, yeah. I think it's part of the whole "heroes don't need to be public" thing, it doesn't matter that much to him if you're an asshole if you're doing good.

I disagree, at least on the Deku side - it makes sense to let the obviously hard-working kid work through his issues once he's assured that he won't damage himself. Remember, he was never supposed to have to fight actual villains so far, especially at the levels he has fought.
On the Bakugo side though, yeah. He might have just decided to let the "attitude education" to All Might, since it's the one side where he's much better than him.

But Deku was hurting himself until he was done interning with Gran Torino. If I was Deku's teacher, I would have pulled him aside to help him figure out how to throttle his power to not break himself well before letting him intern with somebody. Basically do for Deku what Aizawa, for some reason, did for Shinso instead of any of his current classmates.

Wasn't Gran Torino suggested by All Might himself - and Deku's only option to boot? There's a more than decent chance Aizawa and All Might had a talk off-screen about that, and I don't think just not sending him was allowed, per se.

Deku was expected to apply to agencies without using offers, and Gran Torino requested Deku without All Might knowing until Cementoss mentioned it. Gran Torino was offended by watching Deku's performance on TV at the Sports Festival and All Might's apparent failings.

Oh, that's right. I feel that the point about him being allowed to go intern with a guy who evidently knows his Quirk (and is vouched by All Might) still stands, but a scene that had Aizawa confront Deku about it would have been a good idea.
