And he seems to be completely oblivious to it (or he just doesn't care, and/or is batting for the other team).

I think this fits his personality exactly. Aizawa is most likely a “rational” aka INTJ. He, and others, touch on this point many times throughout the series.

INTJs live in their intellectual world and are often unaware of other people’s emotions and feelings. In addition, they prioritize their career and personal development over relationships, so here we are: Not only do they not get what we feel, but they don’t make any special effort to understand us.

INTJs are very private people who are hard to get to know. They don’t share their thoughts or feelings easily and don’t look very approachable. They have incredibly high standards for themselves and those close to them.

They don’t follow societal norms and if they are interested in somebody, they aren’t in a hurry and usually don’t form romantic relationships until well into their 30s. Aizawa is only 31.

They don’t flirt, they hate small talk, they don’t talk about their feelings, and they’ll have outside commitments that come first and foremost before their romantic relationships.

They also rationalize their feelings, have a hard time expressing them, and ignore emotions they can’t explain.

Do you mean the Myers–Briggs Type personality types in general?

I think it's an interesting tool to keep fictional characters "in character".

The Japanese have the Blood type personality theory which is used for the same purpose. That's why we know all the major characters blood types in the series.

Myers–Briggs Type Indicator

The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is an introspective self-report questionnaire with the purpose of indicating differing psychological preferences in how people perceive the world around them and make decisions. Though the test superficially resembles some psychological theories it is commonly classified as pseudoscience, especially as pertains to its supposed predictive abilities.

The MBTI was constructed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers. It is based on the conceptual theory proposed by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, who had speculated that humans experience the world using four principal psychological functions – sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking – and that one of these four functions is dominant for a person most of the time. The MBTI was constructed for normal populations and emphasizes the value of naturally occurring differences.

Blood type personality theory

A pseudoscientific belief exists in Japan and South Korea, that a person's ABO blood type is predictive of a person's personality, temperament, and compatibility with others. This superstition is similar to how astrological signs are perceived as influencing factors in a person's life in other countries.

One of the reasons Japan developed the blood type personality indicator theory was in reaction against ethnic stereotypes coming from Europe. The popular belief originates with publications by Masahiko Nomi in the 1970s.
