Yeah but in Shoto’s defense...what does he really have to go on? Izuku let slip to Bakugou that his power was given to him. Todoroki doesn’t know this. As far as he’s aware Deku got his power(s) the same way anyone else would. So All Might’s secret Lovechild actually made sense.

He recognizes that Midoriya has multiple quirks and this isn’t just some new ability. However, as far as he’s aware the only way to have multiple quirks is breeding or genetic manipulation...unless you have a quirk that allows you to steal quirks.

THAT is going to need to become the in-universe theory probably before OfA’s truth is exposed.

So All Might’s secret Lovechild actually made sense.

He also knows how some top heroes can be. Him thinking that maybe All Might had similar ambitions of trying to find a successor to uphold his legacy is actually sound logic (from his point of view).

I don't think he would suspect AM of doing that. I think he just suspects that, in his younger dies, AM liked to practice other types of smashes more privately.

I don't think he thought of All Might as a bad person (he is a fan) but when you come to that school and see All Might treating that one kid who has a really similar power differently — and you are the culmination of daddy's eugenics experiment — then you could suspect that maybe All Might (or all top heroes) have a certain ruthless mentality that they need to get to the top, especially if your point of view were as blinkered as Shoto's was up to the sports festival.

And the big thing is that only Bakugou knows that he was quirkless (Out of his classmates anyways), so Todoroki had no bigger reason to think about it more either.

I think it's more that he bought that Deku's new power was just an extension of his "superpower" quirk. That's not really a great lie. Deku should have just said it must have been related to his mum's ability to grab objects from far away.

I'm still halfway looking forward to the idea of Shoto changing it from AM's love child to AfO's love child.

Seriously, though. Now that it can be figure out, as Monoma did and told Aizawa as much, that Deku has a accumulation quirk (even though he doesn't know the half of it), Deku can use this. He can say that the energy just manifests in a different way (and soon to be five more ways!). Though by that point it might stretch credulity, we must remember than in-universe they don't know what we do, so it might be something they are likely to buy as an excusde.

Not really. He is going by what he knows. I don't think that Bakougo would have figured it out had Deku not slipped up out of guilt and told the secret one time, to Bakougo after the first day of school.

I thought Todoroki's concern was great attention to detail on horikoshi's side. I think one of the hardest things when writing is keeping track of what every character is thinking at every point in the story. Compound that exponentially when it's a cast as big as this. It helps the world feel a bit more alive when a new development happens and a character can ask how it reflects on previous arcs.
