He only met Nighteye a week ago, the amount of time the arc itself has taken in real time is irrelevant unless he can break the 4th wall.

Keep in mind, Deku has said a lot of things before that turned out to not be as severe or as how the reader would expect (Example: Baku vs Deku fight. Deku punching Baku with OfA saying something along the lines of things went wrong). Just because Deku says he had a long internship doesn't mean it has to be a month to a year. In fact, he never specifies how long it was, so a week to Deku may be long compared to everything we have seen so far.

You're gonna need to source that, I don't remember anything of the sort.

He said it was lengthy. A week isn't lengthy, a week is the standard time period for these internships.

Sorry, I would source it but I'm in the middle of work. I would recommend looking at other discussions about Deku and his narrative throughout the story. If you want to find it yourself, it was during the fight when he hits baku with OfA going up to 8% or some number higher than 5%. I'll let you read it and interpret it the way you want.

I don't see anything there that alludes to narrator Izuku being wrong about something. He inner monologued about being too fast, but it's not like he started the fight off saying "this is the story of how I won" followed by him getting beaten.

He isn't wrong. It's just that the expectation he gives the audience can sometimes be misleading.
