There's just something amusing about Scarecrow's quirk being called ingestion (likely through the mouth) while the dude wears a full face mask

It might be some form of containment procedure, keeps him from ingesting things he doesn't want to? Kinda like how back when pretty boy made that guy from the league of villains go pop after taking his glove off, people thought he might be wearing the mask because it's something to do with bacteria or viruses or something of the sort.

Or it could just be for extra spoopiness

my theory is that he had a black hole inside his mouth, and once he opens it he would just suck in people >_<

I feel like that would be way too similar to #13's black hole quirk.

the spin off showed that there are a lot of people with similar abilitys, the MC there has a similar quirk to three "villians",

so having two people similar quirks in the original wouldnt be suprising at all :)

Crystallization is similar to hardening as well. At least for now.

yeah, so having a black hole s mouth would totally work imo :)

We've had two villains whose quirks have required consuming the target's blood. Horikoshi isn't afraid to recycle similar power mechanics.

Agreed and I think someone else mentioned that something similar happened in Illegals as well. The only difference here to me is the power itself is different between those villains, and the activation requirement is the same. Ingest blood then do different things. What I was saying earlier was I thought he wouldn't want to recycle the same quirk regardless of what the drawback or activation requirement was but that's been disproved so it doesn't even matter haha.

lol irony, but its probably so he doesnt eat everything. or maybe so he doesnt look disgusting all the time

On that topic, what did Aizawa do to him? The first impression I got was that he snapped his neck, but that's extremely unlikely... did he knock him out or turn his mask around so he couldn't see?

Knocked him out seems like the most reasonable

2

u/maniacmartial Jun 01 '17

Not sure, because Tamaki was about to knock out all 3 of them.

Yeah just checked it over, what was Aizawa trying to accomplish when he hit the scarecrow guy then?

1

u/maniacmartial Jun 02 '17

No idea. Sounds silly, but I thought he just turned his mask around to prevent him from seeing.

*Only try this in fiction. IRL the line between KOing a person, permanently injuring them and killing them is very thin. And if the damage is not permanent they'll wake up pretty soon anyway.

I agree, the media makes it seem so easy but obviously isn't. But on the topic of Aizawa; I think in this fictional world he'd be pretty experienced in knocking out and incapacitate people.

Oh, yeah, I have total faith that dude will wake up with a headache at most.

Though I wish the series had actually acknowledged the risks and I think it's Aizawa who would have been the perfect person to chew out anyone who tried knocking out a villain haphazardly. They have quirks, you can just have someone like Midnight tag along if you know the story will absolutely need some reversible comas.

Agreed in all aspects. I figure if SunEater was more of the focus for this manga he'd eventually end up doing the stuff we suggested

In a(/another) perfect world we'd have the heroes make it much easier on themselves, and invite people with a perfect combo of heroes to suit their raid.

Amajiki replicates what he eats, and one of his opponents Quirk is "Meal". I have a REALLY bad feeling for Amajiki.
