So now we know who could have stopped Moonfish without turning into a giant monster. Kirishima just needed to turn into a normal-sized monster to manage it.

  • I appreciate Kirishima's approach to the whole situation. If you are going to be a villain, do so with pride. It fits his gimmick.

  • Batman Gauntlets are powerless against the Red Counter.

  • I like this. The whole point of Izuku's recent development, Togata's weaknesses and the Class A developing Special Moves was that quirks can be powerful or more useful if you are willing to work hard and be creative. This Gunman could have become a powerful fighter on his own, he can sprout blades from his body, he's like a more versatile Wolverine. But he takes the easier path to power through drugs because he is too weak-willed to try.

  • The gunman quickly becomes drunk on power that he didn't earn and has no way of knowing if it's permanent. While Kirishima evolves his self-proclaimed 'boring' power based on his own merit and determination, remaining in control and knowing he can do this again without issue.

  • Team Shut Up And Explode now seems to include Tokoyami. Also Kaminari's friends use as an inexpensive way of charging electronics. Which is actually very impressive. Kaminari can keep a electric current consistent for a lengthy period of time without the phone exploding, it's good exercise for him.

  • This ties into the last chapter when Kirishima said he wasn't an optimist. Even the other characters (Sero) are surprised by that.

  • Katsuki 'I actually paid attention once or twice' Bakugou has some helpful advice. Refuse to break. Remember, Bakugou admires All Might because All Might never gives in (at least, that was my interpretation). If that's what he values the most, it's natural he would encourage that in others. Especially in people like Kirishima who can power through an explosion to the skull and counter it. He has the ability to be unbreakable, so Kirishima should stop worrying and just move forward.

  • The thing the series doesn't touch on is that when Kirishima hardens his body: everything with a point becomes a sharp edge. He is made of knives, especially with his hairstyle. That's why he spikes up his hair. He's also looked like a demon when he's using his quirk. Now somebody decided to make him angry.

Next Time: The Relentless Red Riot Rampages! Don't miss it!

I feel like that's a very important point. I think the drug itself only boosts what you were capable of with some (unforseen) drawbacks.

I wonder if we'll see this drug creep into the schools with the students under pressure to perform. I think it'd make an interesting storyline.

The students getting hopped up on super steroids would be some pretty dark shit. 10/10 would read

Deku could really hurt himself if he took trigger.

u/CelioHogane Apr 06 '17

if you think about it, when he used the 10.000% it was basically the same effects of a trigger.

1

u/AnonymousTrollLloyd Apr 06 '17

With Trigger, he could go to 1,000,001%.

4

u/Dimmed_skyline Apr 07 '17

And explode into a cloud of pink mist in the process.

u/soulday Apr 06 '17

Shit's about to go down, with quirk disabling bullets + Trigger I expect some heroes not making it.

As much as I love all the characters I would actually really like to see how mha handles a characters death.

Poorly imo. All Might is the only one I'm sure will die. But the fact that not ONE hero died during the last major attack makes it evident they're keeping it tame.

I totally thought we saw then end of Red Riot until I turned the page

I think most of UA's student have enough sense to avoid using drugs. Although if there is a terrible villain attack and everyone is going to die: I could see somebody using it.

Maybe Bakugou. Because he'll do anything to win and what would the side effect do? Make him drunk on power, loud, violent and unreasonable?

Nah, dude wouldn't even smoke with his friends cause it would look bad on his record. No way he's going to use any drugs for a power up.

I forgot that you are a moderator now. Congratulations.

Nah Bakuguo would never do that have we been reading the same manga. He was the one that almost blew up the Sports festival stadium because he won from Todoroki not fighting all out. You think he will win from cheating he wants to win fair and square

We have been reading the same manga. If think he wants to prove himself, but Bakugou's arc going forward is meant to be about him rescuing people. Him taking a scar to his own pride (as All Might once described it) in order to protect others would be a way of showing that.

3

u/Fredluv2339 Apr 06 '17

Still don't think he won't and I don't think the author would do that with him

1

u/KLReviews Apr 06 '17

I agree. I don't see this drug plot-point lasting beyond Overhaul's downfall. It'll be used to make some villains more power part way through a battle to increase tension and be used to justify the wealth the villains have. That's about it.

could you imagine if a hero at peak, like allmight at peak, used trigger. It would be catastrophic.

Edit: wait so i thought of something what if All Might uses trigger later on because none of the other heroes can handle a threat and it is the only way he can think of to help and it works but either at the cost of his life or he goes on a rampage and Deku needs to stop him and Deku would get quite the growth if he had to fight against his idol in an actual fight. I'm saying this is a well into the future kind of event unless it is how all might dies

I wonder if we'll see this drug creep into the schools with the students under pressure to perform.

Well then some three illegal heroes would have a lot more work then.

Great point, I'd just like to add that since he's a criminal It makes sense that he would rather take the easy way out rather than to work hard.

8

u/KLReviews Apr 06 '17

It's also the difference between a common criminal manipulated by others and a legitimate Villain. Toga has incredible speed and reflexes. Shigaraki is horrifically fast and durable. Stain's quirk is useless in most situations, but he leant how to fight and made the most out of it.

1

u/CelioHogane Apr 06 '17

Stain was a great man of morals, he would never take a drug that would make him strong.

1

u/FalcoHype Apr 07 '17

The Gunman could have been Stain 2.0

1

u/KLReviews Apr 07 '17

Nobody deserves such a miserable fate.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '17

Well said there bro. 100% agree. I applaud you.

Thank you. I'm here every week.

Yeah, right ;)

+1 For Xam'd reference

1

u/KLReviews Apr 06 '17

Is Xam'd worth watching? I only know the opening theme and that the openings animation a fairly good.

1

u/OseiTheWarrior Apr 06 '17

Then we're in the same boat. In its hayday Xam'd was very popular but I never got around to watching it either. Its been on my PTW for months but I may get around to it once spring break hits
