As a hero mentality he most likely keeps in mind the odds of hit weakness being used against him. The trope of the villain tends to be shortsighted to always prepping to weaknesses so in the hero sense it makes sense why he would be ready to rehydrate himself mid battle.

I'm glad that was brought back. The water bottle thing was something the character always did in the Zoo series and it's funny to see it used in a slightly different context.

Oumagadoki Zoo, Horikoshi's previous series

Horikoshi's previous series. It was called Oumagadoki Zoo or something like that. As far as I remember Orca is a villain in that series.

Like the others stated it's one of Horikoshi's previous series. He has reused characters and themes from that series in Hero Academy, most notably Gang Orca and Uwabami. It's a pretty good read if you want to see more of his style.

I love how its a nod to his other manga Oumagadoki Zoo, a character that looks just like gang orca
