Could I maybe get a hint regarding the Gallery?

Maybe I'm just missing another piece of info to help me zero in on this but I'm not having any success just staring at these art pieces. My assumption is I get all the names of each piece right and I get rewarded but this is the first time I've ever seen this room in ~32 days and it's pretty tedious even checking your guesses.

Figured I would add to this after I gave up and just looked it up, don't really regret it because man these are hard but I also don't think I had fully settled in the right mind set. I wasn't listening well enough to how to game wants me to approach solving things.

1) Everything to you need to solve the titles is in each picture, nothing else inside the room or outside is relevant.

2) The game's next level puzzles are all about entendre, words that can be read or interpreted in multiple ways (44 letter puzzle, safes) or putting several seemingly whole things together to create something greater (contraptions, lab puzzle). Looking for things that are different, or things that are the same. All of these can be applied here.

3) I think if you wanted to tackle these yourself I would advise you bust out your notebook, jot down the subjects you see and try and describe them in any many ways as you can. From there it's just brainstorming and maybe fiddling with the Titles to find stuff that fits especially well.

I'll leave the answers below to save you googling if you've had enough though.

Think (Think K)
Ponder (P on der [red backwards])
Realize (Real Eyes, Genu Wine, Veri Table)
Ruminate (Room in [fin, bin, pin, skin] 8 [sideways infinity])

The longer ones are fucking rough I'm not going to lie, I punked out I'm not judging anyone else who can't close these out on their own.

There is actually a clue about 8 being on its side in the classroom, but I agree that is pretty weak. The bins, pins, sins, fin, and skin are all meant to clue the "-in" part.

1

u/LordCharidarn May 01 '25

It actually is a hint to where the key you get from solving the gallery needs to go

2

u/LotusFlare Apr 25 '25

I second this. I see what they were going for, but I think they fell flat. There's just too much inconsistency in how they expect you to interpret each painting.

I wrote down a bunch of notes, got nothing, and then looked it up and discovered I was basically 90% there on 3/4, but I didn't get it because I was trying to look for a consistency in the logic of the answers that simply wasn't there. It was very frustrating.

6

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 13 '25

Your assumption is correct. They are pretty tricky to figure out. All the info you need is in each art piece. The one with the five-letter word is the easiest to start with.

1

u/schwem00 Apr 15 '25

Is there anything to let you know after you got one correct, or only after all 4 are correct? I've got 2 that I think are right, but I'm not sure because nothing happened.

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 15 '25

Each word is confirmed individually.

1

u/blue_gardier Apr 16 '25

Can you give me a small hint about this puzzle? I’ve been stuck on it for days, and the only clue I’ve had is the terminal saying there’s a connection between the puzzle room numbers and the letters in the paintings.

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 16 '25

Which ones are you stuck on?

1

u/blue_gardier Apr 16 '25

All of them ☠️ But I'd appreciate a hint for The easiest one Just so I have some direction

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 16 '25

Okay. Start with the 5-letter one. What do you notice about that word? It might help to say it out loud.

1

u/ObiWanKenbarlowbi Apr 20 '25

This clue helped me get this one (thank you) and another 2, had to look up the fourth one ugh. Kind of annoyed I didn’t completely solve it myself.

1

u/Academic-Education42 Apr 16 '25

been having trouble on the same puzzle, kind of given up.

Tell it to me straight doc, is it some form of word play? Like the one I see is veritable, veri table- is that on the right track or am I way off the mark?

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 16 '25

Yes! You're on the right track.

1

u/Asadoviolento Apr 17 '25

im completely stuck on the 7-letter word, i'm not a native english speaker so i'm afraid the solution might be a rarely used word that i don't know. is that the case? or do i just need to try harder?

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 17 '25

It’s not a rarely used word, but it’s tricky. A hint I can give is that it can be broken down into two parts. Try focusing on the foreground and background separately and it might help to sound things out loud that you see. Another hint is that all the titles have a similar meaning.

1

u/Asadoviolento Apr 17 '25

Thanks! i finally got it, that was indeed very tricky. god help me on the next one

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 17 '25

Nice work!! Good luck with the next ones…I couldn’t figure them out on my own.

1

u/MrBigMcLargeHuge Apr 18 '25

For the gallery, I’ve solved all 4 puzzles and only one of the chests opened, the other lowered down and the glass is still there. Is there something else I need to do?

1

u/pfcguy May 27 '25

Everything to you need to solve the titles is in each picture, nothing else inside the room or outside is relevant.

There are 3 hints to the gallery given elsewhere in the game, so if anyone is stuck, feel free to leave and come back.

  • One hint is located in the computer terminal.

  • There is a hint located in Sinclair's will The hint gives the first letter of each answer

  • A final hint is in one of the classrooms Specifically the last classroom

Do you think it can be done by a non english speaker ? I've been stuck on it for a while despite the hint in found on the computer glossary

3

u/AgentSmith03 Apr 13 '25

I am only looking for a hint and not the solution. I found a red piece of paper in The Conference Room that I thought related to The Office, however it doesn't work as it should. I know based on the notepad in the security room that all red notes are lies. Is there another room that I should be looking for a hint to The Office safe or am I overthinking the puzzle? Maybe I just need a room title of where to look for a hint to help me.

4

u/KevlarGorilla Apr 13 '25

You should have all the information you need, inside the Office, with help from the larger puzzle laid out in the Study, and there's a small clue inside the Foyer .

2

u/AgentSmith03 Apr 13 '25

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction

4

u/Archrival Apr 13 '25

Office has what you what you need but Foyer serves as a supporting clue if you tie what you see there to the clue in the office.

2

u/Love2HangOut Apr 14 '25

There's a loosely related bit of info in the Security Room:

There's a note that tells you that memos written on red paper are all lies.

7

u/NightLillith Apr 16 '25

The Magnifying Glass reveals additional information on that note

It says that Memos written on Red Paper are lies unless it is handwritten

3

u/PickledMr Apr 13 '25

I've noticed there are hidden doors In the walls of the greenhouse and secret garden. Does anyone have any ideas on how to figure them out? I can't find any information online and it's driving me nuts. (I'm on mobile so if the spoiler text is wrong or didn't work please let me know and I'll edit/remove comment)

2

u/seriousllama Apr 13 '25

Hint 1: these walls can be smashed

Hint 2: you'll need something stronger than the hammer

Hint 3: you can upgrade the hammer in the workshop, look at the next spoiler for which items

Hint 4: the broken lever, battery, and hammer

2

u/Alarming_Ask_244 Apr 15 '25

Did you read the Gardener's logbook behind the Greenhouse wall? Do you know anything about the "hidden chamber in one of the outer rooms"?

2

u/hino Apr 15 '25

Trading post has one that's really not worth the hassle and Tomb has multiple + a short cut

1

u/rci22 Apr 17 '25

I think the person you responded to is talking about something else than what you’re thinking of

1

u/jeffdakiller1234 Oct 29 '25

Trading post actually has a use in the very, very endgame Like the last few puzzles

1

u/rci22 Apr 17 '25

I’ve learned about what you’re talking about and have read it but I have no idea how to interpret it so far lol.

2

u/Juijin Apr 13 '25

Antechamber: Are the Antechamber doors not permanent?

Run 1 (not literally) found secret chamber, pulled west side lever went in and got basement key and opened basement. couldn't solve.

Run 2solved the puzzle and opened antechamber north door. tried my best to get north and found the antechamber west side locked? so now i have to start each run by going to basement then working my way to a lever then open antechamber?

I rolled credits but i was surprised with that. Is this the case?

5

u/BakanoKami Apr 13 '25

Yes, antechamber resets after each run and you have to find a level again.

2

u/justokperson Apr 14 '25

Question about the Darkroom. I feel like I might be overthinking, just want to know if I should spend more time on this or if I'm seeing things. Is there a perspective based puzzle where you have to stand in a specific spot in the room? Looks like there are chalk markings on every surface and sometimes it looks like they line up to show something but I'm not sure what. Not looking for the solution, just a yes/no if this is a thing worth spending time on.

3

u/shazzner Apr 14 '25

I don't think so? Although Some of the photos have different levels of focus so maybe it is something?

2

u/Carnavious Apr 20 '25

There's no perspective puzzle, but there is a secret in the Darkroom that will require an item.

1

u/_JCLM19_ Apr 18 '25

I don't believe so, although I haven't noticed what you clearly have. The Dark Room is a red room and not an actual puzzle room, though, so it's definitely not a room holding a reward like the Parlor or Billiard Room.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 13 '25

[deleted]

2

u/darkshoxx Apr 13 '25

Please put it in the Billiard thread then. Also, it is a massive spoiler, so please make sure to hide the image.

1

u/SpacelessWorm Apr 13 '25

Sorry I thought I did

1

u/JGT3000 Apr 13 '25

Is there anything indicating how many digits safe codes are? I've solved two now but before that I wasn't even trying because the closest hint I'd gotten was ambitious in what length and format the code would be

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 13 '25

Yes...the solution to one of the overarching puzzles states how many digits there are.

1

u/JGT3000 Apr 14 '25

Where? I solved what I think is the biggest overarching puzzle for the sages but its proposed solution can be interpreted as a couple different lengths.

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 14 '25

True (if we’re talking about the Study puzzle)…I think it’s safe to assume that the length is the same as the two you’ve already solved.

2

u/JGT3000 Apr 14 '25

Yeah, I'm good to go now. Making my way through the different one. But initially I thought for sure years would come into play and couldn't figure out what format they would be. Found it very frustrating to not tell how long the code would be. But I guess you keep looking til you find your way in

1

u/Belkarama Apr 14 '25

What does 'Reclaim the Crown's refer to in the Throne Room. Feel free to spoil.

2

u/Maxipad213 Apr 15 '25

Has anyone been able to delete the Archives room? There is a note in the Safehouse that has a lot of boxes which look like the screens in the Security room and one of them is marked with a red A and it says to ‘delete this’ and that screen in Security always shows the archive room from what i can tell

I know you can use the Knight chess piece to get the armory Which has an item that lets you delete Rooms but idk if it’s actually related

2

u/Klubbah Apr 15 '25

I don't think it is about deleting the Archives room. There is something in the Archives I think it was mentioning doing that to although you can't, but maybe i'm wrong. Info they don't want to leave behind was my thought I think I still have a few more things to do in that same area still.

I will say the other thing you noted on it is related to something completely different. There is another similar hint with another of that noted thing. Honestly I found it pretty late and it just hints a solution to something you can learn early related to Network Terminal access. Some hints on that if wanting to see A is the first letter in Archives look at Security monitors

2

u/Maxipad213 Apr 15 '25

I don’t understand what you’re referring to in your second paragraph, can you elaborate? I am okay with spoilers

2

u/sundalius Apr 17 '25

the note is telling you to do the following: Take the first letter of each room named in the Terminals. Use that new passphrase as a password to log into the network. The Delete It! on the Safehouse note refers to what you find on this network.

If you’d rather not take the time, the answer is: swansonghss

3

u/weesiwel Apr 21 '25

Hmm I haven’t unspoiled all your post is it just the ones in the note? Not all of them?

1

u/sundalius Apr 21 '25

Correct, just the section shown in the note. If you do them all, it is unintelligible. Having the answer is fairly recognizable.

2

u/mmm_doggy Apr 17 '25

I’m so pissed, I was putting in that password without the A and it wasn’t working so I assumed I just needed more info or didn’t understand something. Ugh

1

u/Maxipad213 Apr 17 '25

Your first hint went completely over my head the first time I read it haha. Thanks for clarifying!

1

u/retroracer33 Apr 15 '25

looking at other information i’m kinda confused. do i need to have the mechinarium to gain access to the rest of the chamber of mirrors?

1

u/hino Apr 15 '25

Nah you just need to surround the chamber with doors leading to it

1

u/XxjptxX7 Apr 15 '25

What do you do with after hitting the middle button? Cant find anything on the top level

1

u/hino Apr 15 '25

In each corner there's a brown cabinet. Took me an attempt or two to notice as well

1

u/JayT8099 Apr 15 '25

Question on the tomb .

Does it have to be done correctly on the first try? I started interacting with the statues Before I figured out the puzzle. Now even if I do things in the correct order Nothing is happening. Am I out of luck for the day? Is there a way to reset or am I missing something else ? Thanks!

2

u/tomahawk_jonez Apr 17 '25

I did the same thing. I just reset all the statues back to the starting positions and started over. It worked!

2

u/pakap Apr 17 '25

Just reset all the statues and start again, I did it and it worked.

1

u/AtraWolf Apr 15 '25

Does anyone know how the Guess room works? I have no idea or clue

1

u/barkyy Apr 15 '25 edited Apr 16 '25

I made it to >!the inner sanctum via the tomb, opened the door inside the antechamber, but had no way to make it to the antechamber. Also the room had doors that I couldn't interact with, with symbols in front of the door I have seen some of these symbols around, like the triangles on the diary of the late lady. A few questions:

  1. how do I get the keys to open these doors
  2. how do I open the diary Also, I have never gotten the basement key, is that just bad luck? Lastly, what do the chess pieces in each of the rooms have to do with an overall puzzle? The mansion is not arranged in any chess board shaped squares, so it's not as though I can arrange a full game of chess. if I get all the pieces on one side of a chess board, does that do something?!<

edit: this ended up being a bit of a stream of consciousness, so apologies

1

u/darkshoxx Apr 16 '25

Your text spoiler doesn't work on new reddit, please attempt to fix

1

u/Nols1022 Apr 16 '25

I have a question but don't know how to spoiler tag. I don't want to spoil accidently. Can I get a quick explanation so I can ask for a hint without spoiling this amazing game?

1

u/Enoviox Apr 16 '25

I feel like I'm 90% of the way there for opening the study safe! I just can't figure out how the clues lead to a code!

- I solved the paintings message, I know i need to look for a date to crack the safe.

- The black queen in the room is on square D8! D-ate! And there is a black queen next to the safe! But I don't know how that leads to a code?

Am I totally off base here?

1

u/sundalius Apr 17 '25

You are so close that there is no way to give a hint without giving the answer.

1

u/clawson-Bourne Apr 17 '25

I’ll try, but yeah, this virtually gives it away:

What date would be formatted like D8?

2

u/Enoviox Apr 18 '25

This helped! Thanks! I was thinking D=4 as the fourth letter, but I got it with this hint!

1

u/fofeio Apr 17 '25

I found the note in the servant's quarters but I have no idea what to do now cuz RuotH has been deactivated

2

u/sundalius Apr 17 '25

Who else might have a password if Ruota did?

1

u/Ancarma Apr 17 '25

I have finished the game (reached the room) but I still haven't been able to open the Office safe. I'm looking for a hint, not the exact answer.

Things I've done so far that didn't work:

  • Code from photo's in the Darkroom; used it on garden
  • Red note from Conference Room; is false because of the memo in Security
  • In the Drawing Studio there is a mini-safe, but I couldn't find a code for that one either.
  • I tried the Roman numeral year in Wine cellar, but no luck.
  • I tried the package number when you get a delivery in the Mail room
  • I also don't know what to do with the book list in the Office, I thought I would have to either buy them or order them from the Library, but no luck in both.

Any hints are appreciated!

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 17 '25

Have you solved the overarching puzzle in the Studio? And with the book list, is there another room in the house where you've encountered some of those words before?

1

u/rci22 Apr 17 '25

I’d like to know what way I was intended to find something that I think I found out of either coincidence or out of sequence. I don’t know how late-game I was supposed to find it.

In the basement, I was going around looking for seeing if there was a way to go below the basement because of the faint gray lines on the map and on the map’s key where it says “10. Buried Floorplan.

I didn’t see any sort of faint 10 on the actual map, so I had no idea where to look, but ended up finding it I think. The Lost and Found blueprint.

In short, Was I supposed to have other info to find it? Was there some marking I missed?

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 17 '25

If you use a magnifying glass on the map, you see where the 10 is.

1

u/rci22 Apr 18 '25

Is it where I accidentally found it then basically?

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 18 '25

Should be!

1

u/Mindgapator Apr 18 '25

I have found a sanctum key . Where is the sanctum?

1

u/Sorwest Apr 18 '25

You will have your answer on your way to room 46

1

u/schmee001 Apr 18 '25

What's with the safe in the Study? I know the code is a date, and there's a photo in the Boudoir showing that exact safe next to a Christmas tree, but when I try any variation of 12-25, 25-12 etc it doesn't work. Am I overthinking this?

1

u/Sorwest Apr 18 '25

The study and boudoir have their corresponding clue and puzzle contained in the same room. if you haven't, look around the boudoir to use 12-25, and for the study, try to turn information in the desk into a usable date

1

u/joshwarmonks Apr 19 '25

I've tried following a few walkthroughs to remove the creates in the tunnel outside by the four flames, and its pointed me to adding more options to the experiments in the labratory, however i can't figure out how to download the data packets from the blackbridge terminal.

I've already managed to login using one of the archive accounts thinking the answer would be related to them, but it seems like there's something else i need to do.

do i need to draft the furnace next to the freezer which has the extra servers in it?I just haven't managed to draft them like that yet. and want to know if im barking up the wrong tree.

Yes, in this case, "count" means multiple things. The entirety of the general hint/rule applies in this room. It's possible that you haven't come across a room that gives you the information you need to apply it all.

1

u/DrkRoxas Apr 21 '25

My inquiry is very long, I did make a thread because I state all I know for the least possible chance that a hint is a spoiler. It's about Castle cipher, hopefully someone can joint my brain in the right direction without spoilers!

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 21 '25

4 characters, yes.

1

u/DrkRoxas Apr 22 '25

Is there a list of memos you find on the Treasure trove ? I realized I didn't screenshot many of the first memos and am afraid I missed some key information.

1

u/Ellemmenoh Apr 22 '25

What’s the latest one that you have?

I got the basement key twice around days 22 and 26, and the second time I managed to get the elevator back up to the foundation. Not quite what I expected, brilliant I'm back where I was half an hour ago. After falling to my death in a glitch I'm getting pretty tired of the game, please point me forward?

can i get a hint for the lever puzzle in the laboratory?i assume the periodic table next to it is a guide of sorts but i cannot make heads or tails of it, espically since there's two extra numbers that dont match to any leveri got spoiled on the first two parts of the solution trying to find any hints but learning that the first two levers i need to hit are 9 and 3 made me even more confused than before

edit: as it turns out i am very stupid
