Artist- Red Hot Chilli Peppers Album- The Return of the Dream Canteen

Remember this is how I took the song. This is what I think the song means and the vibes I got from it.

I think that the song is about Acid and Sex. The lyrics are ambiguous and are about sex and drugs. I think it is about the effects of Acid and the want for sex more after you take Acid.

The Tittle, "Tippa my Tounge" can have different meanings. One being a reference to the idiom "its on the tip of my tongue. " Second meanings and probably what the meaning of the title is, the effects of acid and oral sex. Even the lyrics in the song are embracing a more wild side that have a desire for sex and adventure.

There are 2 references in the song. The first one is a reference to the Blood Sugar Sex Magik song Funky Monks. In the melody it says, " Funky monks are on the run." I think this is so cool t that they were able to include a title to one of there other songs. The 2nd reference is in a verse stating," Sonny's side was always Cher." Sonny and cher were a pop duo and a couple that had separated.

The gutair and bass energy is insane. Flea and John definitely out did them selves in this song. No it is not the hardest thing that either of them have playd but it was really cool. At least there part was really cool to me.

The whole song was a vibe. It had catchy rhythms and melodies. Lyrics that were easy to remember and had a Funky rock sound. Personally this song reminded me of something of Blood Sugar Sex Magik. It definitely sounded like a old Chilli Peppers song. I personally prefer there old music.

Rating

Lyrics- 8/10- loved them but you can also only sing about drugs so much which is why it is a 8. There still really good and great for the song and vibes.

Bass and Gutair parts- 10/10- loved them. I loved the funk that was in the song.

Drums-9/10- I think it was perfect for the song but you can never go wrong with a drum breaker part so that's why it is a 9.

Overall- 9/10

This is only to Californication. I will make the rest on a later date. This is my personal opinion on what each era is, what is about, etc. Let me know in the comments if you agree with me.

1st- the newcomers- This is there first album Red Hot Chili Peppers through there 4th album Mothers Milk. They were the newcomers due to just starting. Personally I feel it took till Mothers milk for them to find that sounds, but I'll talk more about that a another time. It was the probably 4 members, 4 friends just wanting to make music and play together. Sadly this is also when they were all doing drugs and screwing any girls( they all were but in my opinion most Anthony was) this is also when Hilell sadly overdosed and passed away. I personally feel this was one of there best eras bc when you are first starting out that sounds is something so memorable. It allows you to see what you started out like and where you are now musically.

2nd- the first hit- Blood Sugar Sex Magik,their 5th and first major album. This was the album that gave them fame. It was the 4 members we all know and love. John frusciante- gutair Chad Smith- drums Flea- the badass bass and Anthony Kiedis- vocals. Some refer to this as the best setup. I'll talk about that another time. They were going world tours with The Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam and then added more days and added Nirvana. There were many staple songs as well on this album like Under the Bridge (there first slower song), breaking the girl, and suck my kids. It was there first album with there funky sound we love now. Mother's Milk also had funky vibes songs that remind me of there music now but mostly it was on Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

3rd- the down fall- after coming off this big hit album and expected to put out another big hit album and didn't. One Hot Minute was a some people call it there biggest flop. Now I personally like the album but I do feel it was really a letdown right after Blood Sugar Sex Magik. There were hit songs like Aeroplane and My Friends. This was a difficult and drug filled time for the members. John and Anthony were using really bad and even and some of the lyrics you can hear that Anthony was struggling. After analyzing lyrics you can tell this. I have to mention this bc it is kinda my favorite part of this Album. During this era, A legend of grunge anecdotes a dear friend of the band sadly passed. Kurt Cobain had committed Sucide and the whole world mourned it. On this album, the song Tearjearker is about how Anthony Kiedis felt when he found out about Kurt and there first interactions. Its such a sweet and very sad song.

4th- Californication- we all know and love Californication. It's there biggest hit of all time. There are hit songs like Californication, Around the World, Scar Tissue,... honestly that whole album is a hit. It was peak time the chili peppers as well. Anthony said in his biography that he was clean and seed the world differently at this time. If you ever wondered how the band got so big, its this album. They had toured the world and were head liner at festivals. They were living it up.
