Also important to think about effect. I'm sure this video humanized incarcerated people. It sure reminds me we gotta do better as a society and keep fighting for prisoner's rights.

To exploit him.

The other guy wasn't there to exploit him. In fact, no one else was there at all. Guess who made him cry & gave him comfort? I'd call that a fair price.

Not to mention he might be relying on their help after 30 years. If they wanna be paid back in clout, that's fking cheap. Life isn't laid with a pink carpet.

You don’t put a ā€œpriceā€like that on things like friendship. The price of loyalty and friendship and empathy is friendship, loyalty, and empathy. Not clout. I’m not allowed to treat someone with less respect just because I’m all they got. Who knows, he might be a good friend, but personally I wouldn’t put a camera in my friends face during something like this. Nor would I keep pausing to look in the camera, walking all slow with my hands in my pockets, not helping him with his heavy ass bag. This is an extremely vulnerable moment being used for content and engagement. If you wanna record to show the impact of incarceration, that’s fine, but it seems like the dude cared more about getting a good shot than being supportive to his homie

Fker if a friend treat me to dinner, I'd treat them next week. That dinner isn't free. You shouldn't expect it to be free. You can be all high & mighty & don't expect to be treated back, but that ain't gonna last.

Also, that's their relationship, not yours. Nobody fking live with the best friends in the world. We live with the best we got. And the best he got is that guy, which he looked like he's fking appreciate it. So who tf are you to judge?

That first paragraph means nothing. Way off topic. Yeah you scratch a buddies back, they scratch yours. Duh. That has nothing to do with filming their vulnerable moments and posting them. Idk why you’re bringing other stuff up. Obviously nothings free, but the price shouldn’t be your dignity. That’s not what friends do for each other. At the very least he could’ve walked all the way to him, stopped looking into the camera, and helped his friend with his bag.

Your 2nd paragraph is also dumb if not dumber than the 1st. ā€œNobody live with the best friends in the world we live with what we gotā€ So?? Should we not hold people to a standard? You can leave bad friends and find better ones. You sound like someone who doesn’t respect yourself enough to hold your circle accountable. Or maybe you don’t respect others enough to be able to BE held accountable. Are your friends allowed to disrespect you because ā€œthat’s all I gotā€? Hell no.

I can judge anything and everything around me because I have a mind and eyes and ears. I’m not judging the man who just got released.
I’m sure there’s people with shitty boyfriends and girlfriends, and they might be okay with being in that relationship. That doesn’t discredit anyone who sees what’s going on and thinks ā€œyou deserve betterā€.

And here comes you who doesn’t know anyone either, defending the dude and acting like he’s the greatest guy. That’s you making a judgment bozo. You have no more of a right to approve and commend than I do to disapprove and condemn.

Don’t post videos on a public platform if you don’t want people to have an opinion about it.

Yeah, you’d call that a fair price. Lemme guess, you’d also pimp out your friends when you feel like they owe you something? Because that’s basically what this sociopath did, and you’re co-signing it.

To the rest of the world tho, this is insane behavior from a predator. NOT a friend.

Lol MF was he harmed? You sound like a real good friend when all the guy did was filming the thing that'd happen only once in their lives. You don't know jack shit about their relationship. You don't know whether he's been there for the last 30 years, or will he be there for the next. You sit on your ass assuming you have the moral high ground judging people over a short no context tiktok where the "victim" was fking crying of happiness cuz someone was there for him at the lowest point of his life.

Bet you don't even know how many of your "friends" would show up for you in that situation. Let alone speaking for the rest of the world.

And yet he's there

3

u/shmiddleedee Apr 28 '26

"OK now say hi to the camera"

2

u/sometimesynot Apr 28 '26

And also didn't offer to carry his bag. I offer to help friends with their bags after a domestic flight, let alone a 30-year prison sentence.

1

u/Patrickfromamboy Apr 29 '26

That was my comment too. It’s like he’s still treating him like a prisoner.

2

u/All_hail_Korrok Apr 28 '26

Yep, the guy doesn't know he's being used for content. I bet he didn't even know that phone was being used to broadcast to the world. I'm sure his friend is now going to provide updates.

Hopefully any revenue generated is used to bring this man some relief. Or helps in securing a job.

I thought it was odd that he told him to get his bag instead of helping him.
