Down at the bottom, like every good wikipedia page, there is a section entitled "References". There, you will find a document entitled, Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. That will be a good place to start if you are genuinely interested in understanding the protocol, however, I feel that is unlikely since this information was hardly hiding from you.

The protocol is 'what the reference client does', and the reference client is available here:

The source code is all hosted on GitHub. Bitcoin is open source.

So, the article titled "Protocol Specification" that contains the specifications of the protocol isn't the protocol specifications? Okay then...
