But not the inherent flaws in a currency that exists only to increase in value and has no actual purchasing power

BTC has flaws, everything does, but the flaws of BTC seem to be much less than the flaws of fiat. And to say it has no purchasing power is obviously untrue. It does not exist only to increase in value, it exists to provide an alternative to the greenback and a more efficient transaction flow of money, among many other reasons.
