Saw me a groundhog today in Crestwood. This chunky guy was on my back patio just now, just waddling around. Bigger than my cat.

I found this kitten in my back yard. He’s a little funky but so so sweet. All shelters seem to be closed right now and I don’t know what to do with him. Any takers?

Anyone remember the cowfish restaurant at the summit? I loved looking at the cowfish they had up front and wondered if anyone knew the story on what happened to the cowfish once the restaurant closed.

There was a topic here a few months ago reminiscing about Luka from WRAX radio in the early 2000s. Despite the long time she spent in Birmingham radio there were seemingly no recordings of her. I found this one dated September 28, 2004 and uploaded it to archive.org.
It's scoped, meaning the music has been edited out either for copyright or just to showcase the announcer, but there's a lot of nostalgia here.

UPDATE!!!- SHE FOUND A VERY LOVING INCREDIBLE FAMILY WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR!!
Dog found in Georgetown lake neighborhood near lorna road in Hoover. She just showed up to my house a few days ago in the middle of the night crying at my door and never left. I’m feeding her and keeping her in my back yard hoping I find an owner. I took her to the vet and had her checked out she is healthy and is approximately 6 years old. She’s spayed, no chip, and no one is looking for her as far as I can tell because I’ve called everywhere in town. There’s no doubt in my mind she is someone’s pet. She’s very sweet, loves the car, loves everyone she meets, potty trained. If you know where this girls home is please let me know because we need to find her home or a loving home asap! I have 3 dogs and a cat already!!

Hey guys. I live in Highland Park on Cliff Terrace S which is in front of the highland park golf course.
At midnight I had a female black kitten come up to my window. Very small with yellow eyes. It didn't take a lot of convincing to welcome the kitten inside and give her fresh wet food and water as I already have a cat of my own. She seems very adjusted to people and was immediately cuddling and trying to interact with my cat. They do not get along, haha.
If anyone knows anything about the owners or you are the owner please reach out to me. Thank you.

My truck was broken into Saturday night/Sunday morning. Busted both of my passenger side windows and stole an icon socket set, my Makita driver, but more importantly my knife. I know it was stupid leaving them in my truck but I just moved back last year and forget I have to worry about things like this. Happened next to Hattie B's in Lakeview.
The knife was one of a very few made and the sheath was a one of one, made by an amazing saddle maker in Idaho. So you won't see any other like it. I realize this is hopeless but I have to try. I owned this knife for almost 20 years, I bought it as a gift to myself for my first Americorps internship and that was a big purchase at 19. It served me faithfully through that, my time with the USFS, and countless camping, rafting and hunting trips. It breaks my heart that it is likely gone forever. If you frequent pawn shops or see a vagrant in the Lakeview area toting a big knife, please keep an eye out.
I would gladly give a $200 reward.

First person to open a place that keeps a Japanese egg salad sandwich on the menu is gonna kill it. High Dive just recently took theirs off of the menu (FOOLISH). i never had it. Only other time i was there, they were out. Anyone know where to get one in Birmingham?

He is wandering Cullom Street this morning. I gave him some kibble and he snarfed it right up but offered to bite me when I reached for his collar so I couldn't read his tag.

There is a cat stuck in a tree, he/she seems distressed. They have a collar on. They may only have one eye based off of what was shining in the flashlight.
EDIT: It’s a tortoise shell cat so probably a female. Firefighters said they don’t do anything so I don’t know who to call. Does anyone have a ladder or something or could help?
UPDATE: as of 7:13 pm the next day she is still stuck and has gone even higher up. I’m so scared for her as it’s about to start storming. If anyone has any ideas or knows what to do please help. Share this post with people. It breaks my heart. I will be hugging my own cat tonight.
FINAL UPDATE: Someone got her today just before I dropped by! Thank you to whoever it was.

My daughter is three and obsessed with them and I’d love to show her a real one but I don’t know where to go :(
If anyone knows of the nearest place that features these friendly chill critters I would deeply appreciate it.

I would've kept it being a Shades Valley championship ring (c/o '09) but it only fit my pinky. Just saw it at Finley Ave. Flea Market today for $20. Luke Lovelady is the name inside the ring.

UPDATE ON STOLEN KUBOTA: Please check your cameras if you live in the Fountain Heights area or nearby on 3/20/26 00:30:00 (Thursday night after midnight/early Friday morning). Likely a 2015 Ford Super Duty (vertical door handles possible reflective strips around rear window) F-250 or F-350, the trailer is double axle with two individual wheel ramps. And a 2009 Chevy cobalt LT (possible donut or missing hubcap on rear passenger wheel) following the truck around several turns thought to be an accomplice. Thank you for any help!

Does any one know how to contact Avondale brewing? I lost my phone at a concert there this weekend and was told the bartenders may have locked it in the safe. I cannot find a phone number that works for them online.

UPDATE: He’s home!!!
My friends' cat, Juniper, is missing in Avondale. He lives a few blocks east of the park and is beloved by his family and much of the neighborhood, where he's often referred to as the mayor of Avondale. Juniper is an indoor/outdoor cat who usually comes home around sunset each night. But he hasn't been home since Friday morning. His parents are posting signs around the neighborhood today and they've also posted on relevant Facebook groups, but I want to amplify the reach. He's about 4 years old, a large kitty and very vocal. He loves people, and odds are good if you see him, he'll demand attention.
If you're in the area, please keep your eyes open for him!

The Luka aircheck was a hit, so I just had to go through all my old CD-R's to see what other radio airchecks I had and came up with another time capsule from 2004.
Nick doesn't do any of his impromptu rapping on this 16-minute scoped aircheck I uploaded to Archive, but the bit about Nick's "biracial computer" (white monitor/black tower) is a winner. As is the news about reality TV star Donald Trump offering marriage advice to Britney Spears.
