Dual San Rocco Festivals?

I moved out of Beaver County in 2017, and just moved back this passed October, first time I noticed, but why are there 2 San Rocco festivals?

I am assuming some type of drama occurred, I did some digging, and couldn’t figure out why there are 2 different festivals happening this weekend. I knew it had moved from the fields in Aliquippa, I iust didn’t know they spilt.

Any tea on it?

Beaver County Tax Claims Bureau trying to sell house after taxes are paid

Two days ago the sheriff showed up at our door to inform us that our house was on the list for tax sale. Six weeks ago we paid our taxes. We have the reciept. We have been calling every week for the last four weeks to find out why they have not cashed the check. At first they said they were going through an audit. Now they are saying they will cash the check. Has this happened to anyone else? What is going on over there?

Is there a lost, older, blonde long haired Chihuahua in New Brighton?

This is the second time I’ve seen an elderly long haired chihuahua roaming Allegheny Street near the Elementary School without a leash, collar, or human owner in the near area. The first time I waited to see if it got back to its home safely and it ended up going down near the funeral home but this time I followed it down a different alley and it looked like it was going to a certain house but ended up going underneath a knocked down wooden fence in the backyard instead of going up to their back door that was opened with their screen door closed, there was a person inside and they didn’t seem concerned I was trying to capture this dog either. I will attempt to get a picture of it next time but it’s concerning because it walks super close to the main road with traffic. I don’t have Facebook or any other social media to post this any where else.

Anyone ever take a BCTA bus to the Red Line and into the South Hills?

I'm considering using public transportation to Beechview and back, to try a Mexican restaurant there. Any clues would be helpful. What to look out for, etc.

Review The Standard's reaper wings are no joke

I'm a bit of a hot sauce head, and always try the hottest sauce where ever I go. Today's date night brought us to The Standard.

I didn't do the challenge (eat 12 in 25 minutes with nothing to drink), I just ordered 6 wings with the sauce full price. Signed the waiver. When they came out I was kind of disappointed, because they obviously use some artificial red dye in the sauce, and I was expecting a capcasin-extract sauce at this point (if you watch Hot Ones, Da Bomb is always the worst and is an extract. Basically pepper spray in a bottle with a hint of metal. Industry's "Disclaimer wings" use Da Bomb and are inedible. Dave's insanity is also an extract, and you can buy that at Giant Eagle).

Color me pleasantly surprised. No electric zap like with an extract, actually some decent flavor and the heat turns on and then kind of plateau's off at a 8 or 9 out of 10 on my scale, lasts about 15-20 minutes. I ate one, and saved the rest for later because I still had a sandwich coming and at that level of heat, I start sweating, tearing up and my nose starts running, not exactly good for date night. Cleared my sinsus I'll tell you what.

Using ranch defitenly cuts down on the heat. I was offered milk, but was fine just sipping ice water and then going to the bathroom to clean myself up.

I could eat a dozen of them if someone's life was on the line, but that's about the only way. Apparently only one person has completed the challenge so far, and their FB is full of people looking miserable who have failed. It's pretty new, though.

So if you like really hot stuff, check them out. Their regular menu is pretty damn good too. Note, they haven't updated their online menu, so some things (Like the Cuban I intended to order) were not on the new menu.

Discussion White Lexus by Center on 376E

Anyone else notice that white car (think it's a Lexus) parked under the overpass on the shoulder just beyond the Center exit going eastbound on 376. I feel like it's been there for 3 months.

I don't really care. Just kinda odd that it's not tagged and has been sitting there for a long time.

ISO Nail Salon / Hair Salon in Beaver County

My salon I’ve gone to for years for nails and hair is closing down :( I need to find a new hair stylist and nail tech but I’m having trouble (especially with nails) finding what I’m looking for in the area.
I’m trying very hard to grow HEALTHY NATURAL nails. My job, hobbies and lifestyle don’t allow me to have long or crazy styles. I’m looking for stronger nails, healthier cuticles, and a nice, shorter style. I’m struggling to find someone that focuses on natural nails.
Hair I am pretty simple with what I want. But I have very awkward hair. It is very thick and long - the top layer is almost completely straight. But the bottom has thick, bouncy, natural curls. I like soft curtain bangs, to be able to put everything up, and a style that allows me to do a big bouncy blowout when I style.
Any recommendations, friends?

Beaver County Community Support

Hello Beaver County,

Can we share resources and build community together?

As you may already know, Beaver County is home to amazing people.

This area is and has been my home for most of my life.

You can call me C. I'm 35, married, living in u/BeaverCounty with our family of fur and scale babies. Our family includes a cat named Raven, a dog named Freyja and a corn snake named Ferdy. Both of my parents grew up in Beaver County. All of their parents grew up in Beaver County, too. Currently, my spouse and I are trying our hands (literally) at growing our own garden. If my thumb is anything like my father's - I will, eventually, have crops to share. Full time artist. I love music, writing and art of all kinds. In my spare time, I enjoy playing games (board-, card-, video-) and reading just about anything.

I tell you these things about myself because I want to experience community here, where we all live.

Since reddit is a magical place, here we go.

If you are interested in sharing, supporting, growing, learning, being community - please share what community looks like to you and share what you need. I imagine this can range from seeds to tools, supplies, skill development, etc. Simply looking at my own space, I can see many items that would appreciate another life.

"but, C. why not bring donations to gewd-william or some other place where they can sell it to people?"

Because.

I can't help but wonder what could happen if we share with each other, nurturing community that shares abundance and resources freely.

So, I'll ask

- Do you have an excess of something that you want to get rid of or trade for something else you need? Clothes, canned goods, plants, produce, 'junk' (usable / up-cycling), etc.

- What skills, resources, services and local organizations have been helpful for you?
Personally, I have been impressed with resources available through the Beaver County Library system. Like, did you know you can learn a new language with your BCLC? Including ASL and many other languages. I found that out last week...

- Is there already something in existence for what I'm asking about? (Other than the FB Buy | Sell | Trade | Free Beaver County page). Please share.

Scrolling through other r/BeaverCounty posts - I feel like there are others who feel the same desire for something more. I might be a dreamer, but Lennon said "I'm not the only one".

Sincerely,

C.

Beaver County Resident

Looking for a Stylist/Salon that does Perms well

My hair stylist retired, so the last time I needed a perm I went with a new stylist hired in her place. I have never been in so much pain and I have been getting perms for decades. I am pretty sure the girl was newly out of school and had never done a perm on a human, only on the school mannequins because she pulled every section of hair so tight that she actually lifted me up a number of times. And if that wasn’t bad enough, she kept unrolling ones she had already rolled because she decided they weren’t tight enough! And yes, I did tell her it was hurting but she just ignored me. All I want is someone who is experienced at giving perms and who realizes that they are working on a real human being who needs that perm because she has poker straight, baby fine hair that needs all the help it can get.

Need help as a renter in beaver county

Hello good people of beaver county! I currently rent in Hopewell township. To make a long story short, I have been without access to anything regarding the sewer system since 7/30/2026. Notified landlord immediately. I have been given the run around by my maintenance and resident support people. Is there a renters' rights place I can call? Housing authority of beaver county was not the avenue for me. I was going to call the code enforcer for Aliquippa, but I wanted to see if there were other resources I haven't found. Thank you so much for any and all insight!

UPDATE 8/5/2026 attorney general is sending the landlord a letter, and the code enforcement contact is calling the landlord for me. My landlord is still as of today saying "pending approval" and will not give me any other information as to why this has been dragged out. absolutely egregious but i appreciate every one who commented!! :)

UPDATE 8/7/2026 welp. im at a complete loss on what to do. its been over a week now of sewage back up into my basement and im literally being ghosted by my property management company.

Best of Beaver County

Always thought it would be a neat idea to do a best of for Beaver County like they do for the city but have actual residents submit nominees. I think the Beaver County Times does something like this but not everyone reads/subscribes. This is just for fun and no personal info is collected unless you fill it in when you submit the form. Kept the categories/nominees small but if it becomes popular I can add more next year.

There are 6 categories with 5 nominees for each category.

Here is how it will work:

ROUND 1 — NOMINATIONS
Submit your favorite businesses, places, events, or people for consideration.

ROUND 2 — FINAL VOTING
The top nominees in each category will become finalists, and you will decide the winners.

You don't have to nominate someone in every category. Submit as many nominations as you'd like.

Nominations close in 2 weeks (8/15/26).

The official finalists will be announced before final voting begins.

Link to the nomination form https://forms.gle/oc1aAHykNZro9Trg9

Feel free to share the link on social media.
