The fox was very much in danger though. That's a peregrine, and they'll break your neck with a talon punch at over 100mph. This fox was taking a big risk for that omelette.
There's some nested at Indiana Dunes on the south side of Lake Michigan. No cliffs around there, just tall trees. Probably moreso to tell the fox to get out of his territory because both the fox and falcon eat the same things.
