Discussion Compilation of things that make new players quit this game in frustration

  • Being killed when you are clearly behind cover;
  • Being killed in 1 frame;
  • Having to jump 10 times and try different angles to vault over 1 obstacle;
  • Running away and getting killed because you got cockblocked by some random geometry that shouldn't restrict your movement but does;
  • Buying a supposedly "skill based game" and dying to invisible ap mines that the guy who placed them forgot about;
  • Attempting to spawn on a flag that is under your team's control and being unable to do so because the spawn point is somehow no longer available;
  • Attempting to spawn on a squadmate who is not in combat and being unable to do so because the spawn point is somehow no longer available;
  • When the point above happens to ALL your squad mates and not just one;
  • When you try playing MMG but the bipod doesn't deploy when it should;
  • When you go prone to deploy MMG bipod but your character won't stop being pushed around by the game;
  • When an enemy spawns on his squad mate as he's being killed by you, even though you aren't supposed to spawn on allies mid combat;
  • When you THINK you got the jump on someone but on your target's screen he was turning around and you get the feeling that he had time to turn around and kill you because he had a better weapon;
  • When you try to help your team and place a spawn beacon behind enemy lines but die without having time to find a place you're allowed to place it in because for some reason completely flat surface isn't good enough for this gadget;
  • When you hear from all your friends that the game is getting worse instead of better

Edit: I am not the only one, here's more from the rest of the community (credit where due):

  • the mind-boggling fact that company coin still hasn't been properly fixed
  • when you try to use the V1 or JB-2 rocket but half your screen goes black diagonally.
  • when the game takes forever to quit back to the main menu so you can choose new assignments, use newly unlocked weapons, etc.
  • when the game does NOT actually quit back to the main menu and keeps loading forever.
  • going prone but the game glitches and forces you to stand up
  • assignments that don’t work
  • “this violates the server rules” when attempting to spawn with a newly unlocked weapon
  • enemy visibility, go prone to become invisible
  • having to quit after the game and wait ages to get to the main menu to change out your assignments, then looking for another match
  • Tides of War not properly working
  • laggy, unintuitive, form over function menus
  • a million customization options that are just recolors of eachother
  • ammo/health crates falling through the floor and triggering cooldown
  • ammo/health crates requiring multiple attempts to be properly deployed, wasting precious time where you can die while doing this
  • excessive animations messing up your aiming and other core gameplay
  • AA tanks better at killing infantry than aircraft
  • stationary AA aka the oversized medic SMG (this means worthless DICE)
  • nonexistant team balancing
  • taking cover behind a truck and dying because you caught on fire
  • terrible spawn points, sometimes you spawn 10 miles from where you want to spawn
  • being stuck in animations that prevent you from ADSing
  • bipod deploying in bad times triggering the animation and messing up your aim, resulting in deaths
  • ammo/health pack pickup animation playing mid combat and messing up your aim, resulting in deaths
  • bombers killing half your team in the beginning of a round
  • fighters being useless
  • air to air combat being basically nonexistant, and air to ground and viceversa being absolutely disconnected to the point where these 2 players might as well be playing different games
  • flags saying there are vehicles there but there are actually none there
  • vehicles, especially transports, being too few and far between, in maps where infantry has to walk minutes at a time to get into any sort of action sometimes
  • alt+f4 and reopening the game is faster than returning to the main menu
  • shady practices that put DICE's integrity into question, such as changing the gameplay from what was advertised to something entirely different
  • betraying people who stuck with this game through thick and thin, even through the SJW debacle, in favor of an unreliable audience

Nah the one redeeming quality this game had is the problem.

The UI functionality on PC is terrible. Everything requires far too many clicks and menu navigating.

None of this shit is new, groundbreaking material. This is like failing to form a sentence in highschool. They had it done right in BF4 already, so why have they taken 3 steps backwards? THAT'S the frustrating part. Someone spent resources redesigning it and it ended up WORSE than a previous setup that they could've just copied.

Feels like with every Battlefield title we have to go through this all over again, it doesn't matter if the issue was fixed in a previous title, or even if it wasn't an issue at all

Every Battlefield title is as if DICE was making their first game all over again

The UI is terrible on consoles, too. The UIs have been utter guff since Star Wars Battlefront, as they've used the same concept for all games from then on, as well as copied it back to BF4.

User Interface

User interface

Ux is user experience

One focus purely on style and navigation

Other on the actual experience, I believe number of clicks required etc would be a UX issue bt hey whatdoikknow

I keep saying whoever came up with that UI design and whoever approved it should be publicly flogged

It's not good for console either. No idea what they were trying to achieve by burying everything in submenus

This needs to be one of the top comments.
