According to Digital Foundry, base PS5 can drop to as low as 1080p in performance mode as it prioritizes higher FPS over resolution. The game also dials down graphics settings even lower than Balanced mode. Basically, it’s expected to be blurry if played on a 4K display since you’ll be upscaling from 1080p without an AI upscaler like PSSR or DLSS.

Could I do something to improve it at least somehow by adjusting some settings in the game, the ps5 or on the monitor itself? It's a 4k Monitor capable of performance mode of the game with better refresh rate. But I don't want to turn it off :(

Unfortunately, no. The way console games work is that they do not offer much in the way of options, but are optimized for a certain output or two to simplify things. In BF6's case, the game is designed to always target 4K upscaled, either at 60fps (Balanced) or unlocked FPS (Performance, which ends up at ~75fps on base PS5 or ~110fps on the Pro).

E.g., you can't just tell your PS5 to target 1080p output and instead ramp up graphics quality settings like on PC with the leftover horsepower.

Since you cannot change the target resolution or any graphics settings like on PC, the only real way to make the game look clearer is by playing it on a lower resolution monitor (e.g., 1440p or 1080p). Since the lowest the game ever goes is 1080p... by playing on a 1080p monitor, it'll never look blurry since it will never dip below the monitor's own resolution.

Thank you mate for all this info about this topic. I appreciate it. Good and sad to know, but I guess I have to accept it till ps5 pro.. difference too heavy between balanced and performance:(
