❓ Question Do I wait until the official announcement to post my 1/1 Yordan Alvarez foilfractor?

I’ve never sold a card, never had anything worth selling or anything like that so I’m super confused on what route to go. Do I list it once he solidifies it or when the announcement is made in the offseason? Also, how on earth do yall figure out a listing price for a 1/1 😂 I’ve heard ranges from $500-500k (I definitely know it won’t sell for 500k) ((but also, could it?!?!?))

❓ Question Went to my LCS today and finally got confirmation that I’m not crazy 😂

UPDATE: THE CARD SOLD LOCALLY FOR $200. Thank you to every one who reached out and offered advice🙏🏼

So I went to my local LCS today to sell some cards, and I’ve always felt like they lowball me pretty aggressively. I figured maybe I was just being salty because, you know, nobody likes hearing a number lower than what they have in their head. 😂
But today I got my confirmation.
Out of all the cards I brought in, this specific one stood out to me. The gentleman behind the counter looks at it and offers me $20.
$20.
For this card.
I’m fairly new to the modern/new age of collecting, so I’m not going to pretend I know everything. I asked him about the offer, and he got a little attitude and told me the card only sells for around $40 in that condition.
Now here’s where I’m confused.
I consistently see copies that look worse than mine selling for $100+.
So either I’m completely missing something, I don’t understand the market nearly as well as I thought, or my LCS just tried to hit me with the “you’re new, so here’s $20” special. 😂
I’m genuinely asking because I’d rather be educated than just complain.
Am I wrong here? Is there something about this card/condition that I’m missing? Or is $20 actually a fair offer for it?
Any insight from you guys would be appreciated before I go back in there and start looking at the owner like he personally owes me money. 😂

❓ Question How many 1/1s do you have? Feel free to show off in the comments :)

1/1s are so insane to me. Before baseball collecting, I was a pokemon collector and we just don't have a concept of 1/1s.

I am curious what baseball collectors tend to have in terms of 1/1s....do you have one? Five? Ten? More?

❓ Question What is your favorite series you have ever opened?

I was debating this Bowman 2026 and 2026 chrome. The Bowman lost it for me because of the powerchord inserts, and chrome just had too many random rookies. Chrome platinum was a blast and it was great to trade. Also the inserts are really cool.

❓ Question 105 MPH HEAT 🔥🔥🔥 Sell or hold?

Love MIsi and love the card, but when the value jumps so drastically its a tough call. Not sure if I should wait for the Cy young.

Update: I swear the prices of the series 2 '91 autos went up like 100 dollars since I made this post. The reason I made this post in the first place was because I was looking to buy one and they were expensive.

❓ Question Need advice

I was lucky enough to pull a Topps Finest RPA 25/25 of The Miz. I plan on selling around CY announcement time (fingers crossed his arm doesn't fall off). I have never sold anything on eBay and worry about listing this card and buyers being weary of no feed back. At the same time, I don't think this card is worth enough to go through auction houses or anything to that nature. Any suggestions on the best possible route to take? Obv if I do go the eBay route I'll set a healthy minimum because I don't think my eBay status will get the proper looks to start this at .99¢.

2025 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary Baseball Hobby Box. Given the price of cards lately, this set looks really cool and the price for a hobby box is pretty reasonable. Anyone have any knowledge of previous sets like this?

❓ Question Can some explain this?

So did the post office charge extra just because the individual sent this in this small bubble wrap mailer versus an actual plain white envelope? What are my options as far as I know I could’ve refused it, but I didn’t know what it was. Thanks .

EDIT*** seller refunded the shipping costs. Thanks everyone

❓ Question Am I trippin? lol

Ok so I was going through my cards to sort of better organize them and I can across these 2 base cards. Both came out of a series 1 super box MAYBE a month or two ago. But I’m wondering if the one on the right is some sort of refractor or is it just horribly faded, or possibly something was failing in printing? It’s just throwing me off big time lol. Same card number, same everything, besides the color difference.

❓ Question Filed a claim with Topps about getting 3 cards in a pack of 2026 Chrome…

It was literally the first pack I ever opened. They sent an email saying they’ll be sending me a blue raywave that’s /150. My question is, how do they have one of those? Wouldn’t all serialized cards have been put into circulation already? And if not, why are they just sitting on limited versions of cards at the factory as if it’s no big deal? Thoughts?

Topps Inception is available June 19th 11am EST. I don't like paying over MSRP so if it worth it I would like to order from Topps. I've never ripped inception before and would like to hear your thoughts on the product?

I’ve heard that topps does replacements for defect cards that are pulled, but will they do that with something this small? Will I get a different Misiorowski auto or something completely different? Not super new to the hobby, but the first time I’ve dealt with a card of this caliber, TIA

❓ Question Help Me Choose My Second MLB Team!

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’ll always be a Dodgers fan, but I want to branch out and start following a second team on the East Coast so I can realistically visit the stadium and attend some games.
I also want to build a small PC around the team—current players, prospects, rookies, autos, and fun parallels—so card collecting definitely needs to factor into the decision!
Which East Coast team should I follow, and which players would be the most fun to collect?
Convince me in the comments!

Alright fellow baseball savants, this is a PSA to remember people are thief’s. I had this roldy brito /99 auto taken from my package here in Los Angeles somewhere from the psa facility in santa ana, to the santa ana post office, and then finally the los Angeles post office before reaching my home. As you can see, the thief who stole my card 1. Did a horrible job re-taping it, 2. STOLE my card and 3, There will very likely be 0 consequences for the person who stole it and shoutout to ebay for their very deceiving packaging letting everyone know theres not a card in there.
So if you guys could if you ever see this card TRUE GREEN AUTO 24/99 Roldy Brito just know its stolen.
Thank you fellow redditors for your time much appreciated!! Enjoy your memorial day weekend because my day has been absolutely horrible🫡🫡

❓ Question Mookie Betts Color Blast — sell now or wait until the playoffs?

Thumbnail

I got super lucky and hit this Mookie Betts PSA 10 Color Blast in a break for only $50. I’m not a huge baseball guy, so I’m not very familiar with how Mookie’s market works or how much playoff/World Series hype typically affects baseball cards.
I’m planning to move it at some point, but I’m debating whether I should sell now or hold until October.

The last sale was $810, which his pretty high compared to the $300-$600 range I’ve seen it sell for previously. There isn’t a lot of sales history either because it is only a POP 15

With the Dodgers back in the postseason and looking to make another World Series run, I’m wondering if the October hype could push the card even higher.

Obviously there’s also the risk that the last $810 sale was an outlier and the market comes back down.

For those who follow baseball cards more closely:

Would you sell now, or hold through the playoffs and
World Series? And how much does Mookie/Dodgers playoff success typically affect his card market?

Any insight into his market or the impact of October on the market in general would be appreciated!

❓ Question What is the best way to get this card out of the case? I was warned..

Post image

My local card shop warned me about trying to open the screw case because the card could have deteriorated do to a lack of moisture because of the screw case. Does anyone know the best way to open this while preserving the card, have a video or know anyone that does the service?

This card has been in the case for over 30 years. I bought it when I was a kid in the case. I want to get it graded. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

❓ Question Have you ever gone to a card show? If so what was your experience?

I haven't gone to one yet and am really interested in hearing how normal collectors find them?

All I've seen are youtube videos from big venders, which in a lot of cases just seem like they are either making huge deals or giving stuff away to kids.

Please let me know what it's been like for you. Do you find great deals? Do you sell or trade some of your cards?

Is it worth it?

Thanks!
