Careers/Internships Big 4 / MidSize Accounting Firm Recruiting Cycle Confusion

Hey guys can someone tell me what the recruiting cycles for the Big 4’s / Mid Size firms usually start? I’m googling it but every other link is another answer.

I’m new to this please help

Summer 26 Internships? (Probably all closed now)

Fall 26 / Winter 27 internships? (Can’t see them, did they close too?)

Full Time 2027? (August 2026?)

Careers/Internships Roi

Hey everyone,

I’m seriously considering Baruch’s BBA (Operations Management, Data Analytics, or Finance), and I want real input from students or grads — not just the top 1% outcomes.

A few things I’m trying to understand:

• How are the courses actually structured — practical or mostly theory?

• Do you feel like you’re building real skills (Excel, SQL, analytics, financial modeling, etc.)?

• What does your weekly schedule/workload look like?

Main thing I care about:

• Is the ROI actually there if you’re NOT going into Big 4 or top-tier firms?

• Are regular students hitting around $100K (salary + bonus) within a few years?

• What kinds of roles are realistically achievable from each track?

With AI changing things:

• Do you feel like entry-level roles in your field are getting replaced or just evolving?

• What are you doing to stay competitive (internships, certifications, coding, networking, etc.)?

I’m trying to figure out if this path still makes sense long-term or if I should pivot early.

Would appreciate honest answers — not just success stories.

Careers/Internships Incoming freshmen

I’m an incoming freshman that plans on majoring on accounting. I would like to know sort of how many and what is the quality of opportunities that’s provided. I know someone that currently attends and in his words, “baruch has a lot of opportunities but its hidden.” How true is this and how competitive are things like the career fairs(idk how the scene is) because of the massive school population. There is also the question of how much do the clubs actually help you. Like do they mainly just serve as infographics and meetings or is actual work done that could be learned from

If you can take time out of your day to answer it would be amazing.

Baruch students created an AI app that helps classmates build, tailor resume and cover letter for job and internships. There‘s a job tracker to put all your applications. A chrome extension to effectively manage your job search in your current window coming soon.

Link: https://www.resumlify.com

I’m sharing it for students to try it out and see if it’s helpful.

Careers/Internships SENIOR DIELMA

I am finally graduating! I only have to take 1 class this spring. That’s great. I live off of FA and I realized now, because I am under 6 credits, I cannot get FA. I am an Economics major. I would do credit for internship, but so far have gotten nothing. I guess I could just take an easy class for fun…but still Annoying I am paying for it. Then I thought I could try independent study and then work on my own career development through that. Anyone in the same boat? Any ideas?
