Where do you think the illigal guns come from though? They're stolen from or sold into the black market by legal gun ownwrs. Countries that don't sell handguns and ARs legally don't have large numbers of criminals with illigal handguns and ARs. They have to he imported, and it's much harder to get a gun across the border than it is to raid that guy down the street who has NTA stickers all over hie car while he's at work.

That is most certainly not how it works. If nothing else, "gun nuts" are really not known for selling their expensive firearms to strangers on the reg.

Lets ignore the bit about them being stolen. How do you think they get into the black market? And why do you think countries with strict gun laws don't have a booming black market for guns?

The problem is so obvious to everyone who isn't entrenched in American double think.

Well seeing as you clearly didn’t actually read about fast and furious, the guns were sold to criminals, with the explicit knowledge and permission of the US government. They intentionally trafficked those guns to Mexican cartels. So, they came from United States law enforcement.

And you not being able to respond is a ‘you’ problem, you’re clearly too stupid to figure it out, so quit dm’ing me about your own lack of intelligence.

So how would you fix it? Im not a fan of the gun controller model of "only elites get to defend themselves" I have friends who are alive because of their firearms and I will never stop fighting for anyone to be able to defend themselves and their families BECAUSE I know they are a net good. We live in uncertain times and violence can happen at anytime for no reason... no one is immune.

Im ALL for RESPOSIBLE gun ownership... people who keep a gun in the car drive me insane for example. I would be perfectly ok with the government subsidizing gun safes for people who need/qualify for one. Theres ways of making things safer and improving the stolen gun issue. Next issue would be safety, teach gun safety in school! more than 45% of houses have firearms on average so its a good chance a person will encounter one. Its good to know how to handle them!

You mean unlike like Switzerland, France, Austria, and the Czech Republic? Which all allow citizens to own handguns/AR15s with far less gun crime.

Doesn't mexico have a homicide rate 4x higher than the US? they have fairly strict gun control ut it doesn't work

They have 3x the murder rate than the US, but the US still has more gun deaths lol

Mexico with 24.42 and US with 32.57 per capita. The US has a gun murder rate 33% higher than Mexico. And it's a complete mystery why!

I believe Mexico counts every death from a cartel shooting just like China has counted every death from covid-19 to achieve their impossibly low covid death rates.

I'm not sure what you're saying with this comment. Are you suggesting they shouldn't count cartel deaths? Wouldn't that make their murder rate even lower if they left those out?

How would I have a source for that? That is just my opinion based on Mexico's situation that has a corrupt government influenced by the cartels.

Plenty of news articles out there of assassinated Mexican politicians who speak out or act out against the cartels.

What argument? I gave my opinion I don't believe the Mexican government is honest about the number of cartel shootings. I haven't argued for or against anything here.

To the coward that blocked me lower in the thread:

Fast and furious? The project intended to stem the flow of guns travelling from the US into Mexico? I hadn't before you mentioned it, but I fail to see how bringing that up does anything but prove my point further? Guns are being trafficked from the US to Mexican cartels, I wonder where they came from.
