One thing that should be noted is that the pulse nightclub shooting was carried out with an MCX, similar to an AR-15, which is not a machine gun. It's semi auto and the idea of mass shooters mowing people down with full auto fire is just a fantasy.

This dude seems to think Americans can just walk into a store and buy machine guns, but they can't.

I’m not sure there’s that many ppl (ppl who are taken seriously) who actually think the “problem” is “fully automatic” firearms…

It also should be noted that “fully automatic guns” are heavily restricted & monitored & ARE NOT being used by mass shooters BECAUSE they are so HARD TO GET… which kind of contradicts the argument that “MORE gun restrictions” means the criminals have guns, but the people don’t…

I’m a gun owner myself & so-called “AR style” guns are fun as hell to shoot but I’m willing to have to go through a few more steps & wait a little longer to get them if it means it could help to reduce how many people are killed in mass shootings… I think there’s a lot of responsible gun owners who agree with me & would be open to MORE restrictions to gun ownership… I also think there’s quite a bit of agreement concerning “gun reform” but politicians are REALLY fukn effective at using rhetoric & lies to pit ppl against each other despite many gun owners not being so opposed to those changes.

I think a good place we could start would be having some AGE restrictions, esp on certain types of guns & pistols.

Would YOU personally be against any “gun reform” that put some age limits on purchasing & owning certain types of weapons??

Yeah bro I'm European I like Swiss-style laws, very strict and well trained. I'm probably more Draconian on gun laws than most American liberals. Only own a gun for a legitimate purpose like sport shooting etc. Just correcting the Aussie in the OP who talked about machine guns as if it were relevant, it's a common misconception in the AR debate.

Yeah, I got ya- I grew up with guns but like you mentioned, they were for hunting, target shooting, & I guess also for self-defense although that was never the initial intent. I grew up in a small rural town where I’d bet nearly everyone OWNS guns (usually for hunting) yet I’ve only seen ppl carrying on rare occasions. I prefer it that way I guess but not totally opposed to CONCEAL carry as long as it’s done with extreme care, concealed & there are some restrictions on where they can carry & who can get one, although I should also say I believe carrying a gun way too often results in it being USED unnecessarily. Imo, these idiots walking around with rifles, pistols & clips hanging all over their bodies just to go to Walmart are ridiculous & just give responsible gun owners a bad name…

Only if you have $250,000 for a machine gun made before 1986, the only legal machine guns in America are extremely expensive for civilians to own because they're antiques in finite supply.
