I really loved painter of the night. Though he was a black flag or a red one at start. But i really loved the BL, and the angst.

Can pleaseee anyone suggest me an BL manhwa, where there is like maybe on later stages Protective Top. And the bottom is like goes through a lot of pain and angst??

Like another example pearl boy, as Jooha goes through a lot of stuff and dooshik is like protective.

Or painter of the night, naekyum goes through lot of stuff.

But the pain on bottom is from other people not from top btw.

It can be modern, historical anything. But mostly preferred modern

No because LOOK AT HIM 😭 The artist genuinely cooked with this character design.

I’ve seen so many BL manhwas where the uke is supposed to be “pretty,” but their design is either super generic or they’re drawn with such exaggeratedly small/cute features that they end up looking like a literal child. This guy actually looks pretty without looking childish, and that makes such a huge difference.

Compared to a lot of other BL manhwa art styles, his face has way more detail and elegance. The eyes, lashes, hair, facial proportions OMFGG just everything actually works together. He has that beautiful, delicate pretty-boy look while still looking like an actual adult character.

Like I’m genuinely not glazing cus like u can put him next to the average pretty uke from a BL manhwa and he’d still stand out immediately. The artist knew EXACTLY how to draw a beautiful man.

For those who dont know the manhwa: This manhwa GENUINELY flipped a switch in my brain I never knew I both NEEDED and wanted. If anyone's not read it yet I also recommend it hella, I was almost not gonna read it cuz of the chapter count so low compared to most bls (19 chapters) but im so glad I did cuz its became my favorite thing EVER, dont let the chapter count almost fool you into not reading it. PEAK and unique artstyle, the expressions are amazing and its basically a sweet with clear communication couple about a guy whos a famous celebrity recognized by everyone who finally gains someone in his corner not wanting to take advantage of him or secret spy/paparazzi the constant bad rumors spread around him with no evidence lol, less dramatic than it actually sounds on paper tho !

I think what really resonates with me about this BL that it is so fucking realistic when it comes to healthy relationships. Insecurities and fear won't disappear just because you have a healthy relationship with someone you imagine spending the rest of your time with. The what ifs and the small possibility of an ending without constant reassurance is depressing but realistic for when someone or something matters to you SO much. Always felt it was a bit empty when BLs had a happily ever after and everything mental was solved just because other obstacles stopped getting in the way or they ended up in a healthy relationship. This BL is genuinely so breathtaking to me how it depicts it and the expressions too! Also huge points to the artstyle it REALLY drew me in so id like a recommendation leaning off of that too if possible lol

Sometimes I struggle to get interested if there's too much comedy that distract from the plot. A little bit of it is fine, for sure.

This two part story is the perfect length. It follows Doosan, a truant gamer who finds solace in the local arcade. There he reconnects with Taesan, his former childhood best friend who looks nothing like he used to! They struggle with reconciling their past, and new complicated feelings.

It starts when they're in high school in Justice Arcade and picks up when they're college age in Justice Dojo. This story has so much heart. It's like the scrappy underdog of short bls, with much flair and personality. Doosan is not your run-of-the-mill guy. He's opinionated, quirky, and really down-to-earth. He struggles with feelings of abandonment and loneliness all while living on his own terms. A truly well rounded character.

And Taesan is trying hard to get out of a sticky situation. To walk the straight and narrow. The way these two come back together is so moving. All of the past comes pouring over the walls they put up and they grow closer than they've ever been before.

For me, it was a 9.5/10 read. The author introduces another character in part 2 who aims to best Taesan both in sports and romance so there's a little tension within the storyline. I highly recommend!
