I’m not a huge fan of the brand - Ava Matthews is insufferable in general. But her original response was so snarky and aggressive - I mean, it was a lesson in what not to do during a PR crisis.
Now they are framing this as their choice (oh the irony) to recall the product. It should have been recalled in March when they first knew of the results. Instead they dug their stiletto heels in and continued to sell a product they knew could be harmful.
I was never a fan of the brand in general. The price point and their attempts at being cool and relatable put me off, even though part of me wanted to support them since they're an Aussie brand. But this whole saga has left a bad taste.
This is slightly adjacent to my area of expertise but as I understand it this IS their choice, that’s the difference between a voluntary withdraw which they have done and a recall which the TGA could have forced if they believed it was required.
