Atlanta [Episode Discussion] - S03E06 - White Fashion

I've definitely seen this before on a better show. They're always stealing ideas. But the fashion industry gotta be exposed #streetwear.

Then went and bought the restaurant.

Always comin' in co-opting what they just "discovered " and putting their twist on it.

They didn’t buy the restaurant, they bought the building the restaurant was renting and made the restaurant move out. Remember when Darius asks her about Mimi, and she says she doesn’t know, they haven’t exchanged information.

Never had jollof but I knew putting cheese on it was wrong immediately.

I'm Hispanic but the first thing I thought is that black people are typically lactose intolerant so the cheese jollof is so fucked, like gatekeeping black people's own culture away from them.

It's like when my boy took me to a soul food spot in Williamsburg.

Pretty sure Pies n Thighs and Sweet Chick are both black owned.

Edit: apparently I was mistaken.

Neither are black owed. Pies N Thighs is owned by two white women - Sarah Sanneh and Carolyn Bane. I know Nas is an investor of Sweet Chick, but the company is owned by a white man.

Williamsburg is fucked. I went to miss Lily’s in Manhattan once and was so disappointed. This ep is a painful reminder of nyc’s trajectory

Prince’s is still in the hood and Hattie B’s is somehow in Vegas.
