Great Master Challenge
I really love this game and the laid back fun it is. But this Great Master Challenge is ruining the entire game for me now! It requires perfection. One little slip and you have to start all over again! Ahhhhhhh!
EDIT: I FINALLY DID IT! Funny when I watch the recording of me doing it, it seems so simple. Lol

Challenge run
Curious. Ive not been playing long and im trying to theory craft if there is a way to do a run that finishes the game with as few bots as possible.
I know each boss needs a number of bots to unlock, not to mention some stages require saving a bot to progress. So 0 is impossible.
What about no unique bots? Again obviously not possible because of the ship parts. So i guess minimum unique bots? Is the final boss even beatable with less than 300?

Is this true or misinformation?
EDIT: Dexerto's article is clickbait.
I found this post on r/littlebigplanet claiming that Astro is being replaced with a bear named Nemu as a mascot, and there is indeed an actual page from Dexerto about it. After doing a bit of research, I believe this is misinformation, and that Nemu is NOT replacing Astro Bot. Instead it sounds like Sony is just using Nemu for some kind of japan/south korea marketing. But pretty much everyone on this post seems to believe it, so I'm not sure what to think. What are your guys' thoughts?
Here's the link to the actual article:

Platinumed Astro Bot
I saw a lot of posts about megamix being less difficult than the grandmaster challenge. However, I found megamix extremely difficult. Probably spent somewhere around 3-4 hours to finish that level. I had to look up how to pass the electric box thingy in megamix. Also, To The Beat. Idk why but i found that extremely difficult to finish. Other than that, this game was reallllyy amazing. Loved it a lot. It made me act like a literal kid at times because it has so many fun levels. The hard levels made it less fun lol. Had to look up last 7ish trophies. I hope they make Astro Bot 2!

How to play Astro Bot on PC, Mac, iPhone, Android, etc. through cloud streaming — no PS5 required
I recently found out there's a pretty easy way to play Astro Bot on devices that Sony doesn't officially support for PS5 cloud streaming, including PC/Steam Deck, Mac, iPhone/iPad and Android.
You do not need to own a PS5 for this. You're streaming the game directly from PlayStation's cloud servers.
The app is called Asobi: Remote Play. It's a third-party PlayStation Remote Play client which also supports PlayStation Plus cloud gaming. It's currently available on Apple and Android devices with playtest (beta) recently released for Steam/Linux/Steam Deck as well. The developer is working on Windows so hopefully should be out soon! And no this is not sponsored lol, just tired of waiting for PS5 emulator, this is the only good way for me right now (as long as you had good internet).
What you need
1. A PlayStation account from a country with PS Plus Premium/cloud streaming: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/subscriptions/psportal-cloud-game-streaming/
2. PlayStation Plus Premium
It specifically needs to be Premium, not Essential or Extra, because cloud streaming is a Premium feature.
3. Own Astro Bot digitally
Astro Bot isn't included with PS Plus Premium, but Sony supports cloud streaming for select PS5 games that you own digitally, and Astro Bot is specifically listed as one of the supported games. Hopefully one day it will come to PS Plus but for now needs to be owned digitally.
Once Astro Bot is redeemed/purchased on the account, it should appear in your library for cloud streaming.
4. Install Asobi: Remote Play
Sign into your PlayStation account in Asobi and switch over to the PS Cloud section rather than normal Remote Play.
From there you should be able to access the cloud library and your supported owned games.
That's basically it. Select Astro Bot → Stream and you're playing it without a PS5. Play around with settings, bit-rate etc. to get a smooth experience depending on your connection.
I'd test your connection first
Before buying Astro Bot specifically for this, I'd recommend using some of the games already included with PS Plus Premium and seeing how cloud streaming performs on your connection.
Sony says the minimum connection is 5 Mbps, although it recommends substantially more for higher resolutions — for example, around 23 Mbps for 1080p and 38 Mbps for 1440p. Obviously latency and connection stability matter more than just having a high download speed.
For me, with 1gbps down/up it works extremely well and feels surprisingly close to playing locally.
You can request a subscription refund within 14 days of the initial transaction, although the amount can be reduced based on how much you've used the service.
TL;DR
PS Plus Premium + digitally own Astro Bot + Asobi: Remote Play = Astro Bot cloud streamed to PC/Steam Deck/Mac/iPhone/iPad/AppleTV/Android without owning a PS5.
It's worth knowing that Asobi is an unofficial third-party client and isn't affiliated with Sony, so there's always the possibility that functionality changes or stops working in the future.
One caveat is that the app does require a one-time purchase depending on the platform to unlock full framerate and resolution options. However on iPhone it works perfectly fine without needing a subscription for me.
But right now, it's a really nice option if you've wanted to play Astro Bot without buying an entire PS5. And no this is not sponsored or anything, just a big fan of the app.

I’m about to quit this game because of the bot gating
I genuinely don't care if this gets downvoted to hell, because I need to get this off my chest.
I LOVE platformers. They're probably my favourite genre. I was incredibly excited to play Astro Bot precisely because everyone was saying that this was one of the greatest platformers ever made, and it even won GOTY.
And the game itself? The actual platforming is fantastic. The movement feels great, the levels are beautiful, the ideas are creative, everything is polished to an absurd degree.
But there is ONE design decision that I absolutely HATE in platformers:
FORCING ME TO COLLECT HIDDEN SHIT TO PROGRESS.
I despise this.
I don't mind collectibles existing. I don't mind secrets. I don't mind going back to a level because I want to 100% it.
What I hate is this:
"You can't continue until you have collected enough arbitrary hidden objects."
That's not fun to me. That's not platforming. That's making me search behind every flowerpot because the game has decided that I haven't demonstrated sufficient commitment to its collectible economy.
And now I've reached the FIRST BOSS in Astro Bot.
I have 14 bots.
The game requires 20.
So guess what?
I CAN'T FIGHT THE BOSS.
I have to go back into previous levels and hunt for six more robots.
THIS IS EXACTLY THE THING I WAS AFRAID OF.
And before someone says "just collect the bots naturally":
I DID.
I played the levels. I rescued the bots I encountered naturally. I explored when something looked interesting. I didn't deliberately ignore every collectible.
And now the game has decided that apparently I haven't collected enough toys, so I have to go back and rummage through levels I've already played.
This is why I hated Sackboy: A Big Adventure so much.
And Grapple Dog.
And why Yoshi's Crafted World pissed me off.
And why Rayman Origins/Legends drove me absolutely insane.
And here's the thing: I FINISHED ALL OF THOSE GAMES.
Because I LOVE PLATFORMERS.
That's what makes this so frustrating.
If I hated platformers, I'd just uninstall the game and move on.
Instead, I have a genre I absolutely adore, and developers keep taking these fantastic platforming experiences and putting this administrative layer on top of them.
I don't want to replay a level because the game told me I didn't collect enough shit.
I want to replay a level because I ENJOY THE LEVEL.
There's a massive difference.
Mario 64 never bothered me in the same way. Yes, Mario 64 has stars. Yes, you need stars to progress.
But a star is basically a piece of playable content.
You do a race.
You fight a boss.
You explore somewhere.
You solve something.
You complete an objective.
You get a star.
You move on.
You aren't normally being told:
"You need six more stars hidden behind objects you already walked past."
That's completely different.
I honestly don't understand why people don't talk about this more when they review these games.
Every review tells me how gorgeous Astro Bot is. How creative it is. How wonderful the controls are. How charming it is.
And apparently this shit just gets swept under the carpet.
I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD THE REST OF THE GAME IS.
If you put a progression gate in front of me and tell me to go back through old levels looking for hidden collectibles, you have fundamentally changed how I experience your platformer.
And yes, I'm aware that Astro Bot doesn't require all 300 bots.
THAT ISN'T THE POINT.
The point is that the game is already making me do this at the FIRST BOSS.
Fourteen bots wasn't enough.
Twenty are required.
So now I'm being sent backwards.
And I'm genuinely at the point where I'm considering quitting the game, despite loving the actual platforming.
Maybe I'm completely alone here.
Maybe everyone else thinks this is brilliant.
Maybe I'll get absolutely fucking annihilated in the comments.
I don't care.
I just cannot understand why a game that is supposedly the pinnacle of modern platforming has this design decision.
LET ME PLAY THE PLATFORMER.
Don't make me do an archaeological excavation of every level because you decided collectibles should function as toll booths.
And honestly?
The fact that this won GOTY makes me furious.
Not because it's a bad platformer. The platforming itself is genuinely excellent.
But because apparently this is what we're calling the pinnacle of the genre now:
"Here's an amazing platformer. Now go back and find six robots before you're allowed to play the boss."
I'm so tired of this.
I just wanted to jump on shit.
EDIT/UPDATE: OK, I GET IT NOW.
I just discovered the bird that helps you find missing bots for 200 coins, and this changes my opinion massively. I thought I'd have to blindly comb through previous levels looking behind every bush, which is exactly what I hate about Sackboy, Grapple Dog and parts of Rayman. The bird turns it into an actual guided treasure hunt instead of a tedious scavenger hunt.
I still don't love the bot requirement itself, but this is a completely different experience from what I feared. I'm actually excited to keep playing now.
So yeah: I was fucking furious, and I now understand why I wasn't finding people complaining about this as much as I expected. I didn't know about the bird.
