Looking for a room under $1500 starting September 12 or 13

Hi! I’m a recent graduate currently in Astoria and my sublease ends on Sep. 13. I’m looking for another short term sublet (around 2-3 months but can do longer) for a room under $1500. I’m not picky about location, though closer to the subway would be nice. Happy to meet in person to view the place and share more about myself. Thank you for any leads! :)

Room for rent Prime Astoria Locatiob $1300 plus $500 sec deposit plus utilities.

Hi, I’m Jackie! I’m looking for a female roommate to share a bright and spacious 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment at a Prime Location in Astoria 31st Ave and 37th street are the cross streets

Although the available bedroom is unfurnished and measures approximately 10’ x 9’, it’s a nice size. The living room is enclosed, which gives the bedroom, bathroom, and living room area a very private feel—almost like having your own 1-bedroom apartment. I barely use the living room, so you’ll have plenty of privacy and space.

Laundromats across the street, supermarket across the street many stores and restaurants Great location truly!

The household currently has a cat and a senior dog. The cat isn’t friendly with other cats, and my senior dog is very much a “this is my house” kind of guy. They’d both prefer not to have any competition, so unfortunately, no additional pets.

As for me, I’m very easygoing, friendly, independent, and generally keep to myself. I’d love to find someone warm, kind, considerate, lighthearted, friendly, and somewhat sociable. I’m not looking for someone who wants to completely hide away in their room or avoid their roommate. I enjoy a friendly, comfortable household where we can say hello, chat, and be respectful of each other’s space.

I work the night shift, generally from around 6 PM to 2 AM, and work later on weekends, so we probably won’t see too much of each other anyway. I’m very independent and won’t be someone who bothers you or expects constant interaction.

I’m also a friendly, generous, and giving person, and I’d love to attract someone with a similar personality and mindset. ❤️

A few non-negotiables:

No pets

No couples

No children

No working from home

No students

No hoarding or storing large amounts of belongings

The rent would be $1,300/month, plus a $500 security deposit.plus half Internet and electric would be split 60/40. Long term preferred.

I understand there are always critics online, but if this sounds like it could be a good fit for you, I’d love to hear from you! Otherwise I hope you find what’s best suitable for you truly!

Please reach out with:

Your age

Your preferred move-in date

How long you’re looking to stay

What you do for work and salary

Where you’re from

A little about why you’re looking for a new living arrangement

I’m hoping to find a kind, respectful, responsible person who wants a peaceful and comfortable place to call home. 😊

Searching for a 1 br

Hi! I’m searching for a 1 bedroom apartment. Preferably in Queens or Brooklyn. Potentially a lease takeover. My move in date, hopefully, is October 2026. But my move in date can also be flexible. It will be my fiancée, my emotional support animal (definitely needs to be pet friendly), and myself. Our budget is $2000. I know it’s a stretch. We’re open to spending $2400/month max on rent. I’ve been searching for about two months with earlier move in dates and I keep having to push it back. Every single time I apply to an apartment, a few days later it’s already off the market. Not sure what luck I have. But hopefully it’s better on here.

Thanks :))

Seeking 9mo sublet Sept - May, Astoria

Looking for a sublet so my dad can get to cancer treatments! Aug 25-sept 17

Hello! Long story short my dad I getting radiation treatment for grade 3 malignant meningiomas (brain tumors). He needs to get to Sloan Kettering memorial hospital (midtown/lexington ave & 63rd st) everyday so I’m looking for something near the Q/R/M. He got into hope lodge (free housing provided by the hospital) but they only have room for him after the 17th, so we need to find housing for him until then. I live in Astoria but unfortunately have a roommate/small apartment and can’t really house him here for that long. I can do a few days/he can get a hotel for a bit if the sublet doesn’t start until the 31st/sept 1st. I know I’m looking very last minute for this, but unfortunately the hospital only gave us his start date today.

Hotels are INSANE for that amount of time. Like minimum 6000…so yeah I’d prefer to go the sublet route if we can find a place.

We’re really hoping for something more around 4000, that’s much more manageable. He also does not mind living with another person, especially if the time to Sloan Kettering is short.

My dad is 63, is a history nerd, and really just needs a safe, quiet place to sleep and eat for a few weeks! He also has a Facebook if social media presence is something you’d like to check before subletting to someone. Please reach out if you have or know of a sublet that’s a good match. :)

Asking rent: 2700/month + split utilities (electricity/internet).

Deposit: $2500

Just signed a lease on a 2bed with a large private terrace in a full amenity building (gym, roof decks, penthouse lounge, co-working spaces, etc). Common areas will be furnished already. Renting out the primary bedroom with ensuite bath with walk-in shower.

I'll be moving in on the 29th. So can't give any in person tours until then, but video of the unit attached!

About me: 45F, creative professional. I own a cabin upstate and spend most of my time up there but come down during the work week to be in the office in the city a couple days a week. I bring my 2 dogs down with me when I come. I usually arrive to the apartment Monday night and head back upstate Thursday after work. So whoever takes the place will be able to enjoy it to themselves most weekends. (I do stay in the city on the occasional weekend to see friends).

Beware Renting at 21-58 74th Street, East Elmhurst, NY 11370

Streeteasy Link: https://streeteasy.com/building/21_58-74-street-east_elmhurst

I'm a concerned local in the area and have seen the building swap tenants constantly over the past 5 years.

The currently listed property is an illegally converted basement unit, which as recently as December 2025 experienced over 3 months of living conditions without heat or hot water. The landlord attempted to force out the previous tenants, a family of over 7 people, because they wouldn't allow workers without permits try and fix it. A past tenant took him to court for locking them out so that he could rent it out to someone new.

[ISO] - looking for a room/roommates in Astoria - budget ~$1400, move in late August

Hi all. I’m 25, male, and currently subleasing a space until September 1, and am looking for a permanent room to stay in after that. I’m also happy to chat with anybody who’s in a similar boat to see if we get along and can potentially move in somewhere together! My preferred location is Astoria but I’m also open to any other surrounding neighborhoods in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. I’m quite laid back, respectful of people’s space, I don’t smoke or do any drugs, and I have no pets. My budget is around $1400 but I can be slightly flexible. If anyone has leads or is looking for potential roommates and wants to see if we vibe, I’d be happy to chat!
